ShipunRocked Adds Even More Reasons To NEVER Go On It!

Agreed, Metalboy! Nothing about this news changes what I thought when Allyson first posted about this a few months ago. A bummer (for me, at least, as I always wanted to experience it).

I'll take a pick-and-choose day at Aftershock to this floating debacle of clashing styles, trends, genres, and eras. At least I am land-locked and not fighting for scrambled eggs with the guy that looks like he stepped out of a 5FDP recruitment poster.

I won't recycle my comments from a month ago (I think I depressed Rita). But it stands to reason that this is what we are facing going forward. This, and a chance to catch some truly wonderful moments with older bands and new ones in small clubs and out-of-the-way (at least for me) sheds.

All hope is not lost, HIM... There will always be The Monsters of Rock Cruise, where the only time you'll really need to take a nap is during TeslUGH!, Whinery Cogs and anything Frank Cannonfodder opportunitistically coatails in on.

That's the one you should go on, even though there's no Cinderella or RATT this year. Though it tends to

And in all fairness (read "Seriousness"), Sh*tCrocked does one or two real glints of hope in it's "star studded line-up, especially the stalwart Buckcherry, the band I credit with saving Rock & Roll when they struck gold (and Platinum!) in 1999 ("Lit")!

But Neanderthal cannot live on Buckcherry & Black Label Society alone, so go for MORC, where ya got yer Cheezemetal (Europe plus 80's AOR kings, Honeymoon Suite), yer Sleezemetal (Faster Pussycat), yer Altmetal (Bang Tango), yer Almost Forgot Metal (Babylon A.D., Heaven's Edge), GLAM Metal (KIX, Black & Blue, KEEL, Lita Ford), Christian Metal (the almighty Stryper!), 80's Hard Rock (Krokus, Zebra, Leatherwolf) and a couple of Classic Rockers (Derek St. Holmes, Cherrie Currie!), the latter of which is nearly worth the price of the cruise, when you know she's gonna jump on stage with Lita to do "Cherry Bomb"!

Too funny Him! That is an accurate statement, though. As much as I love reading your posts, you have to stop talking about aging and death. No fun. And yes, deny, deny, deny. That's my motto these days.

I saw something recently about MOR 2015 in Argentina with KISS, Ozzy, Judas Priest and Steel Panther on the bill. I guess that's a festival and not a cruise but it sounds pretty awesome. Unlike this line up.

@ Metalboy "fighting for scrambled eggs with the guy that looks like he stepped out of a 5FDP recruitment poster" Killarious almost as bad as fighting the blue hairs for food on a normal cruise those wheelchair bound vixens can be dangerous. Thanks for making me laugh ....

There's only three good bands on here. Buckcherry being the best. Otherwise and Geneni Syndrome are cool bands too. Not big on the rest. Generic and boring for my taste.

Shawn: HIM is to be credited with the killarious comment about fighting over scrambled eggs with a member of The Great Unwashed.

I, on the other hand, experienced a food fight WITH scrambled eggs on one of the cruises not long ago, though I won't delve into any more details for fear of further retaliation.

Whoa!, Rita... Wish they would do an MOR festival with that line-up here!

You made me laugh and talked me down a scootch, Metalboy! There are glints of greatness in that line-up. And, to my mind, you named them.

MOR, at sea or on land (that would be great Rita), will be my bucket/wish-list focus. If I had the money . . . and, in the meantime, I will just take Rita's advice and "rage against the dying of the light." Whatever age we are as 2015 draws close, it is the new 20. Now I just need to wander down to my local Tower Records to get my annual calendar! It's right there, next to the safari hats and Julbo Drus sunglasses, just an aisle over from the cassette singles.

Still, I tend to think I will look towards Europe as a more realistic possibility, even though there is a bit of over-saturation and some of the same sorts of problems. I continue to see some great small and large festivals over there, some years old and some relatively new. I wish there was that same sort of magic here in terms of concerts/festivals. But now I am starting recycle some of my previous comments. So I will stop.

[Sidebar: speaking of different climes, is it just me or has Christian been scarce as of late? I always enjoy his perspective on metal, even when I don't agree.]
