...And Now Jeff LaBar's First Solo Video

Earlier this week we discussed a teaser for Jeff LaBar's first solo effort. Now the guitarist has released his very first solo video for the track "No Strings." The track is from the upcoming release One For the Road.

Though the way some of the bits in the video are shot make Le Bar look kinda stupid, for me, his guitar just blazes! And the song itself kicks absolute a*s! The boy just plain knows how to ROCK!

Marginal songwriting, incredibly good guitar tones, & perhaps the worst mixing job I have ever heard. The somewhat weak vocals are buried under a lumbering bass track & a still too weak drum track. Have someone else re-mix it. Hopefully someone who knows what a limiter is.

I really didn't understand the video.

Again, I like it very much, but I'd take Cinderella instead any day.

very ace frehley vibe to it

No doubt, DJ, but Keifer and Co. are on hiatus and it's Keifer who's unwilling to record as Cinderella, unfortunately for the rest of the band and this is why Brittingham and Le Bar have moved on.

And, GNR, if I may say, IMHO, this is catchier than anything Frehley has ever done solo accept maybe "New York Groove", "Do Ya", "Hide Your Heart" (all covers) and "Rock Soldiers".

I hope he goes on The Monsters of Rock Cruise next year and kicks a*s, even if I do think the guy is kind of laffable sometimes, as he's made some remarks about having a good time on the cruise "whether you're a Rockstar or a Fan".

Is it not bad form for a "Rockstar" to refer to himself as a "Rockstar", especially one of his stature (no pun intended)?

Song is good.Recording is shitty (sounds like it was recorded on a cassette recorder) And maybe a Jeff should've went the extra mile and used some of his contacts to hire an actual singer? (That's just my personal opinion) If anyone is interested,I saw on Twitter there is a package where you buy the record and you'll get a personal phone call from Jeff,a signed copy,etc.....

Wow, Gary, a personal phone call from an actual "ROCKSTAR"! Still, regardless of his distorted view of himself (it's okay for us to call him a "Rockstar", bad form for him to call himself one), it's a cool idea to be able to talk to him on the phone.

I would tell him I think this kicks a*s, to keep on rockin' and get on The Monsters of Rock Cruise as a solo act! Since Keifer is also on it as a solo act, he should do the right thing and join Jeff on stage in support of him, not the other way around.

Unfortunately, I don't see Le Bar, Brittingham or Coury on that cruise as it may be perceived as awkward. This is when I start to miss Cinderella, because, as much as I love Keifer, the whole only equals the sum of it's parts. His solo act doesn't hold a candle to what those guys do together.

I agree 100% MB. Cinderella blows anything they do alone away. As much as I like Toms solo album,it would've been better as a Cindy release, with input from the other 3....

No question, Gary! When I go on The Monsters of Rock Cruise, I actually think I can skip Keifer.

Maybe he'll get the solo thing out of his system and go back with Cinderella for a new album or, better yet, for him and his adoring fans, actually be able to do both solo and original line-up projects as time goes on, a la The Stones and countless other acts of renown.
