Michael Schenker Releases New Video

I worked about a bajillion hours yesterday and my brain is fried. Lucky for me, I can relax and watch the new Michael Schenker video for "Live and Let Live." The song is from the forthcoming album Spirit On A Mission.

Herman Rarebell can sure still play the drums. Wonder if he wrote anything on this CD...he was the best songwriter in the Scorps when he was there.

Glad Schenker's back! This BURNS!

p.s. Good Point, JAT! "Big City Nights"!

I second that, JAT. And having Buchholtz involved isn't bad either.

Schenker is the crazy cousin to Roth's hippie uncle. Nice to see both of them still out performing.

I've often thought (because I obsess about the bands of my youth) about that. What would happen if any of them--Schenker, Buchholtz, Rarebell, or even Roth--were back in the band? Would we get something akin to _Virgin Killers_, or even close to _Love at First Sting_? Heck, I'd even settle for something weird like _Lonesome Crow_ (gotta' love that album cover, mysterious and simple without the need for a sexual overlay).

Eh, not sure it would happen . . . any of them back in or anything close to those albums. Schenker hates the confines of a band he doesn't control. Ditto for Roth, out there on his own spiritual journey playing happily to smaller crowds. Rarebell, the lyrical genius (and I do think people forget how integral he was), doesn't seem inclined to step back in even if he has guested on occasion. And Buchholtz, a lesser overall contributor when set against the above, is a non-starter after internal issues forced him from the band.

And yet, three of the four mentioned play together, and two of the same have sat in on sets with their former band-mates. I tend to think--and I really don't know--that working with Meine and the other Schenker might just be too taxing at this point in their lives and their careers.

Thus we are stuck with unplugged and rejiggered hits, and middle-of-the-road rockers. But we still get a fairly good show for men their age, even if it is by now a very, very, very well-oiled machine designed to hit on cue and not shock or surprise.

HIM, I'm thinkin', even though Michael has joined his Brother and his other comrades on stage with Scorpions, Rudolph just can't handle witnessing his vastly superior brother show him up just by walking out on stage before he even straps on a guitar.

And therein lies the rub. If I should win the lottery, it would become a quest to just pay them all off for a one off. Same goes for Britny Fox, KIX, L.A. Guns, Sex Pistols, Poison, Cinderella, Crüe, Great White, London Quireboys, WASP, and any other band who's members are still alive but not playing together. Am I forgetting anyone?

The caveat? We at BBG! make the set lists with Allyson having the final say!

p.s. Yes, I know Cruë are still together but we want control of the set list!
