New Steel Panther Video Debuts Today

Steel Panther just released their video for "Wasted Too Much Time." The song is from the new album Lower The Bar.

It's typical Steel Panther and I love it.

Wish these old queens would just retire already!

Hahaha!!!, BK!

Video: A- (No matter how stupid it is, ya gotta love that last scene, haha!!)
Music: A+
Lyrics: D (They could even keep the chorus but if they would just take a little bit more of a double entendre approach to their songwriting the results would be way more listenable)

Hey, if you like your comedy "full frontal" with the lowest common denominator (LCD) sense of humor, these guys continue to not disappoint. However, as I once told that idiot bass player backstsgecat M3, if they would just adopt a better lyrical approach a la Cheap Trick's first 3 albums, they would be way more successful and listenable.

bk: nope! I'm seeing 'em on 10/3 at the Sands casino in Bethlehem; Perhaps Gary can make it down. and yeah, full frontal works for me- maybe not every song...that does get BORING!!! but a few songs like Party All Day, Tomorrow Night, I Like Drugs, and Gold Digging Whore never fail to reach climax!

If you haven't been to a Steel Panther house show than please refrain from comments.

I meant..., bk: I'm seeing them "again" on 10/3.

And, mb...the non-boring gems are...

damn auto-correct.

I've seen them, at the first louder than life, so I'm good to comment.

Never gonna convert people from one side to the other, even if they do get a fair share of "middling" listeners. All good to me. Different things for different people.

The fact that they can take what is--at its essence--one of the most time worn cliches of metal (see Dokken, Crue, etc., etc.) and make it funny and listenable is a nod to their talents.

And complaining about their lyrical prowess seems like a cul-de-sac to me: many of the metal songs we love suffer from serious problems in the "message" category . . . not necessarily the emotions the songs speak to, or how those emotions are then put to music, but at the most basic level of unpacking [. . . slowly . . .] the . . . damn . . . lyrics. So I will throw a bit of a bone one way: "The Burden of Being Wonderful" is above-average for them, because it is a bit of stealth joke (and perhaps more to Metalboy!'s point).

As a friend of mine once noted, listening to Dio with an ear toward the "deeper" meaning will drive you crazy. But we rock? Yes. We do. And I think we might be rainbows in the dark. I also think she was heaven sent. Oh wait. She's not the one. And this song fits within that spectrum, even as a well-played joke on the same (more the latter examples, less the former one).

HIM! Somewhat agree but I'm talking about "between the lines" humor, again, citing Cheap Trick, particularly pretty much ALL of the tracks on "In Color" and "Heaven Tonight" albums, for example.

p.s. Unfortunately, I've seen these clowns (well?) 8 times and ponder finding a cot, a couch in the lobby, or even a park bench outside the venue for a quick power nap during the show, which is LCD idiocy at it's finest. Certainly, during the numerous times I've seen them in a festival setting, I'm ALWAYS headed for the exits for a bathroom break or beverage(s) to try and ease the pain of having to listen to their set, which is nearly as boring as TeSLUG or Mr. Small!!!

Steel Panther are a huge reason why glam metal will never make a big comeback!
I've seen Steel Panther in concert (free tickets) & they were terrible, 2nd worst concert I've ever been 2.

Worst ever was Cheap Trick, the crowd was dead as hell & the band members were being very douchey to the audience members.
Was the first & only time I was at a concert where the lead singer berated the crowd for not being excited by their lackluster performance.
They were painfully dull, even their "hit songs" got little to no response at all.
Just a plain awful experience all together!

I've seen Cheap Trick 14 times and they NEVER acted as you describe Jakki, and are the polar opposite of BORING, for crissakes!

Divorce yourself from any negativity regarding Cheap Trick who are heralded by ALL of Crüe as one of their major influences. Get a GRIP!!!
