'Hair In The Fair' Canceled

The Ontario festival Hair In the Fair was just canceled. The fest was supposed to happen this coming weekend. The event was pulled because of low ticket sales.

This fest was announced back around Christmas... and I'm sure I wrote about it then. If you bought tickets, expect a refund at your point of purchase.

not a shock seeing as these bands headline (every) town twice a year, there’s no need to pay 3X as much to see half the show.

Sad as it was a solid lineup until all the headliners and decent bands started to pull out. Goes to show that there are a lot of choices these days for music fans, and it's not easy to make a festival like that work. Had I lived nearby, I would have tried to go for sure. And maybe there is some saturation in the market in general as a lot of these bands/artists have been touring the last decade with basically the same show/setlist.

I guess they had hoped for a decent amount of travelers there (like M3), but just never got it going?

Ontario is an awfully long way to go for a drink, especially when you consider most of the acts are pretty much scabbed, sorry to say, with only one or two original members of their classic line-ups still slugging it out on The Hair Metal Chittlin’ Circuit.

Not to mention that it is way harder to travel to Canada from the US than it used to be. back in the good ole days, you could roll right into, and out of Canada without a passport.
