New Power Ballad Alert!

Lynch Mob just released The Brotherhood on September 8. One of the album tracks is "Miles Away," a 2017 version of a power ballad. It's good stuff, but most anything George Lynch touches is good, right? Watch and discuss.

Is is me, or do I hear a ton of David Gilmour in Lynch's playing on this one?

Lynch is rightly heralded by all walks of fellow guitarists (from Blues to Heavy Metal) as one of the greatest guitarists to ever roam the earth. No matter if some scoff at his chosen genre (Glam Metal, 80’s Style Hard Rock), they din’t Deny his incredible skills and feel for his instrument of choice.

But, ever since Lynch left Dokken, to me, he seems like a great guitarist in search of a great band he’ll never find, and, unfortunately, that includes Lynch Mob, which rates as an “almost” instead of “great”. He’s destined to be the nomad “Metal Mariachi” forever roaming the desert in search of that elusive crossroads at the intersection of fame and talent.

I love this song. The record is very deep as well. I am seeing them a week from tomorrow here in NYC. I just hope they play a few tracks off of "The Brotherhood". They play too many non singles off the first record for my taste, even though it's a classic. Let's mix in some songs off the last 3!

Great song. Lynch will always be one of my favorites. My first thought was wow he looks old, then I looked in the mirror and said wow I look old. haha. The 80's were amazing for me. I was fully aware of how fast the time would fly by so I soaked it all in for as long as possible.
