Nikki is really great at sharing these little historical tidbits on the'gram. Unfortunately it is harder to share Instagram posts versus Facebook or Twitter posts.

I always get a kick out of famous musicians geeking out at his posts. You'll notice Tom Morello responded immediately to this one.

The post is actually shots of him when he was in LONDON, if you read the fine print and check out the backdrop.

I probably would have missed it, too, had I not been zooming in to look more closely at his Thunderbird bass.

Gotta hand it to him, he’s pretty much stuck with that as his main instrument, of course, in many versions and colors with the exception of the occasional B.C. Rich crazy color multi-prong shaped basses he would deploy from time to time for maximum Glam Metal effect in the videos and on tour.

Better yet, when did Nikki Sixx steal it from Freddy Mercury?

Point taken, Mike!, though Mercury donned the same outfit before Way did. Does that then mean Way stole it from Mercury, then Nikki stole it from Way before Hawkins got a hold of it?

However, your point is very well taken as I admittedly completely spaced out on Way and now that you mention it, his penchant for white Thunderbirds, as well.

Come to think of it, when Sixx was in London (the band), didn’t he steal Way’s hairdo, too?
