I can't believe how fast summer is going. Soon, the stores will all be stocked with Halloween costumes and the Christmas trees won't be far behind. To that end, The Bomb Factory, a club in Texas, just announced a holiday show with a lot of awesome glam bands including Kix and Slaughter. Hair Metal Holiday goes down Saturday, December 10. Tickets start at $30 and go up to $400.
The Bomb Factory is located in Deep Ellum, Texas (this is near Dallas).

Dee Snider has just released an acoustic version of "We're Not Gonna Take It" as part of his campaign for musician's rights. The song is being used as the official anthem of The Recording Academy's advocacy efforts.
Snider is demanding fair compensation for musicians and wants congress to look at fixing compensation for musicians in the digital age. Songwriters get below market value for their work and musicians aren't getting royalties off radio play of their tracks. The Fair Play Fair Act would change this. You can read more about the act via musicFIRST.
The acoustic version of "We're Not Gonna Take It" will appear on Dee Snider's upcoming solo album We Are The Ones due in October.
Poison and Def Leppard will tour together in 2017. Poison frontman Bret Michaels broke the news during an interview with the Salt Lake Tribune. Poison hasn't done a full tour since 2012. I can't believe Def Leppard is going back out on the road again next summer, but hey, more power to them. I wonder if it will be a co-headline run? Maybe the bands will switch off each night.
I'll definitely be going to this tour if it comes near me. Now I'm kind of glad I skipped Def Leppard in Cincinnati earlier this month. What do you think?
On Sunday night, I saw The Guess Who and Foreigner live at the Fraze Pavilion in Kettering, Ohio. I went to the show with my husband and parents. It was about a million degrees, so that was the only drawback to the show. Man it was hot - but what a great show! The entire Foreigner setlist is below, and as you can see, the entire show was hit after hit. "Cold As Ice," "Jukebox Hero" and "Hot Blooded" were highlights. There was a big gong for the intro of "Jukebox" which was cool.
During "I Want To Know What Live Is," the band insisted we all grab a person next to us to hug and dance with, which is fine after you got over touching a sweaty person's back.
Foreigner is touring in celebration of 40 years of music.

I couldn't find any clips from the Fraze show, so here's a clip from the performance a few days before. As you can see, the band is tight and rocking. Kelly Hansen sounds amazing and he really does the songs justice. It was also cool to see Jeff Pilson playing live. Kelly even mention Jeff's upcoming Dokken reunion in Japan.
I've never seen The Guess Who live before, but I have to say they were quite good. Most of the band is replacement members now, but so is Foreigner. I don't know many Guess Who songs, but hearing "American Woman" live was very cool, especially since I love the Lenny Kravitz version.
The Hollywood Vampires played Portugal recently and the show was professionally shot. Since I didn't get the see the band when they came through my town earlier this month (and Joe Perry was sick anyway) this is a good substitute. This show is full of cover tunes from bands like T. Rex, The Who, Fleetwood Mac and David Bowie. Good stuff!
Last year was the 25th anniversary of Extreme's Pornograffiti. To celebrate, the band will release Pornograffitti Live 25: Metal Meltdown this fall. The band performed the classic album in its entirety for the DVD release. I don't buy music DVDs anymore, but I know a lot of you do, so I figured you'd want this information. Here's the tracklisting of the CD/DVD package:
01. Decadence Dance 02. Li'l Jack Horny 03. When I'm President 04. Get the Funk Out 05. More Than Words 06. Money (In God We Trust) 07. It's A Monster 08. Pornograffitti 09. GnR played in New Jersey recently and the shows were electric! I'm loving all these lives clips popping up online, especially high quality stuff. You can sit inside in the AC and have a little desk concert today while you work. Welcome to Monday!
