Twisted Sister To Honor A.J. Pero; Announce Retirement

Twisted Sister will present "A Concert To Honor A.J. Pero" on June 13 at Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, New Jersey. Tickets go on sale April 8.

Around 8 last night, TMZ posted on Facebook that  Twisted Sister will retire in 2016. According to TMZ, Mike Portnoy is the band's new drummer (shocking no one).

Twisted Sister not gonna take it anymore -- after one last tour the hair metal heroes will unplug their amps in 2016 ... TMZ has learned.

A rep for the band tells us Dee Snider and the boys made the decision last month to call it quits -- just one week before drummer A.J. Pero died from a heart attack.

The band's 2016 tour will be called "Forty and F**k It."  The farewell tour will feature the core lineup of Dee, Jay Jay French, Mark Mendoza, and Eddie Ojeda ... plus Mike Portnoy (from Adrenaline Mob) will handle the drumming.

Skid Row: Solinger Out, Harnell In

Last night got pretty interesting when Johnny Solinger suddenly announced via Facebook his departure from Skid Row. Here's what he wrote:

"I have decided to leave Skid Row to pursue my solo career. The past 15 years has been a great experience and I have appreciated the opportunity to be the lead singer in one of the most prominent bands of the 1990's and share stages with the likes of Aerosmith, Bon Jovi and KISS performing in front of millions throughout the world. I wish Skid Row the best of luck in their future pursuits."

Literally it wasn't more than two hours after Solinger's post that the remaining guys in Skid Row went on Eddie Trunk's radio show and announced that former TNT singer Tony Harnell was Solinger's replacement. I guess the Skids wanted to move fast to avoid any of those Sebastian Bach renunion rumors. I have to say I didn't see either one of these changes happening, but the Harnell selection really thew me.

I love Glam bands - obviously - but my goodness, when is enough... enough? How much more will we tolerate? Maybe if the guys in Skid Row and Sebastian Bach weren't so darn stubborn, we'd get a proper reunion we all deserve - and that includes the original band. At this point, I'd say it's never going to happen. When I started this site, I was certain the reunion would have happened within a decade. I've been updating BBG! daily for more than 8 years now... and we're further away from a reunion than ever before I guess.

Caption This Photo: Nikki Sixx and Adam Lambert

Everyone knows I'm crazy for both Nikki Sixx and Adam Lambert. I have to say that in this photo, Mr. Lambert looks less than amused at whatever Nikki is trying to do here... which is apparently make jazz hands. Superstar!

Happy Easter - Phil Anselmo Can Help With Dinner

Have you ever watched any of the "Cooking Hostile with Phil Anselmo" parody cartoons on YouTube? They are pretty hilarious for metal fans (someone lacking metal knowledge wouldn't get the jokes) and the amount of work that goes in to each episode is epic. Since it is Easter, I figured it would be a good time to post a webisode - just in case you need some help with dinner later today! The episode below features Phil playing himself, which is extra cool.

Mariachi Version Of 'Holy Diver'

This may be the most epic cover of Dio's "Holy Diver" ever known to (wo)man. Check out this clip of Metalachi covering the tune just a few days ago. Their outfits and dance moves are hilarious... and I swear it looks like Steve Summers from Pretty Boy Floyd is jumping around in the background as a stage tech or something (it's not really him).

Tom Keifer Releases New Video

Tom Keifer just released a video for the track "It's Not Enough." The song is from the album The Way Life Goes. This is a classic - love it. Too bad most folks won't ever hear this track since it won't be played on popular radio or trend on Twitter.
