This Is The Best Metal Video of the Year

I See Stars released the video for "Filth Friends Unite" yesterday. The song is on the album Digital Renegade, which I already think is the most solid metal album of the year. Now there's no doubt in my mind the band has just released the best metal video of the year as well.

I know a lot of you will freak out and say you hate the music/the band/whatever, and that is fine. If you can't listen to the song (which is great), then mute the music and watch the clip. The story is great and the cinematography is amazing. I love bands that make real music videos. These days, there isn't much incentive to do that, so I give I See Stars and their label Sumerian credit for going the extra mile. Watch.

I agree! I saw this yesterday and was amazed by how creative and well done this video was. And along with Pierce The Veil's Collide With The Sky, Digital Renegade is my choice for album of the year.

I do find this quite amusing. I See Stars won't make it on any of my playlists unless I start a new one titled "Metal Dog Kennel" and load it up with all the bands who's singers insist on barking like Dobermans.

But I will put it on my "Best Albums of 2012" list... Uh... actually, I meant "Best Comedy Albums of 2012"! And I won't stop there -- this video deserves "Best Comedy Video of 2012" at the VMAs, if they only had such an award.

Seriously though, you are right about one thing -- the video is very well shot and directed. If only I could stop laughing at the killarious performance of the lead singer, I would have more appreciation for the video's production values and overall message.

Good message. Good video. Horrible song. Felt like I was at The Vans Warped Tour again with my teenager.

Jeez, I'm going to agree with MB on this one. I liked the music before the singer started. It seemed like they snuck some dubstep into the metal. However, the vocals seemed to be screaming just to scream, didn't fit the music. And I love some cookie monster vocals. Two of the best albums this year are fro Gojira and Cannibal Corpse.
On the video, cool that labels have figured out that videos can be seen by tons of people even if MTV or FUSE doesn't
play them. Plus, with the advances in technology you make a great video for a fraction of the cost. Reminded me of Refused-New Noise. Did you realize they were label mates with you fave Asking Alexandra?

i dont see how this "metal boy" can call this music comedy when he is a fan of glam music... which in all honesty (dont get me wrong im a big fan) is the most cheesy and laughable form of music out there.

True what "This Florentine" (I assume it's not "That Florentine" from "That Metal Show") says -- Glam Metal is often hilarious. In fact, the the more seemingly unintentional on the part of the band it is, the funnier it seems.

The difference lies beneath the cartoon veneer of Glam Metal -- underneath the visual presentation, stagecraft and lyrics laced with adolescent humor, lurks some of the meanest most bad*ss guitar playing and killer vocals -- More than any au currant trendoid band like I See Stars.

That singer's routine is totally killarious!

Gimme Rock And Roll!

i was kind of likin the song till cookie monster stormed in, i hate growlers they have no part in music they all sound the same, like shit theres many bands out there i think would appeal to more people if they had singers.
