Is This For Real?

I thought the video below was a joke, but I think it's actually real. The video is apparently the official Geoff Tate electronic press kit (EPK). When I watched it for the first time, I was just flabbergasted. Like, I was confused. One of the most common uses of electronic press kits is to get booked for gigs. But Geoff's new video doesn't do much to sell his solo music career. Instead, it acts as a sales tool for his line of wine, Insania, and his love of motorcycles. Seriously, the clip is just so odd. You have to watch it. Thank Glam it's Friday!

I thought that was pretty cool. I love his deep talking voice. He could do commercials. It really is ashame that they had to break up like they did, especially after all these many successful yrs

It's funny, I thought the same thing, Brian L, when I was listening to his voice when he was on "That Metal Show" two weeks ago -- Tate would be great as a voiceover for TV commercials -- so much so, I wondered if he's already done it. Having worked on TV ad campaigns during the day on Madison Avenue, we were always looking for "That Voice" to represent a product sometimes for as many as 25 commercials or more. Tate has such a voice.

Since Queensryche kinda sucks (accept for their immortal "Queen Of The Reich", hey, at least his voice woulda been good for something.

Now that Tate's singing voice is more or less shot, he has to resort to self exhortation in a shameless, albeit, well done, self-promo clip so Mid 40's Metalheads will buy the Geoff Tate brand, whether it be his tickets or wines, or better yet, both, because they will identify with him as a Rocker who's actually a lot like them or who they aspire to be -- kinda the inner middle class self made small business owner Romney is hoping to get to vote for him. Note: Too bad small business owners who will be suckered into voting for Romney don't hear the truth from joke channel, Fox Noose like the fact that our President has lowered taxes 18 times for small business owners.

Yep, just keep sippin' yer Insania and ignore the fact that your voting against your own best interest when you vote for the extreme right wing philosophy of Paul Ryan that Romney was forced to co-opt. I was actually tempted to vote for Romney until that crazy lunatic was put up. You know they're desperate for any vote they can get from this demographic when Ryan has to resort to invoking the names of AC/DC and Zeppelin (note again, his random revisionist fact blurring using those band names as a reference to "A to Z" when talking about the vital importance of his iPod).

And what about Ryan's twisted inclusion of Rage Against The Machine as one of the artists on his iPod? Oh, that's right, he said he doesn't really listen to the words, just like he doesn't listen to facts. I wonder if he listens to Queensryche?

Hey, here's an idea -- use Tate for the Romney/Ryan Ad Campaign!

p.s. I posed as an Ad Man so I could live in Gotham to fight crimes against Metal like those committed by local band, Anthrax and defend those who were fighting the good fight like all the L.A. Boys who came to town to play the Cat Club, Limelight, The Ritz and sometimes, CBGB's!

"This is Geoff Tate.......I in no way lack self confidence.........I don't always speak onstage, but when I do...its usually arrogant or insulting to someone. This is Geoff Tate....my wine is massed produced with a incredibly cool logo...if I do say so myself. I don't drink Dos Equis because it is not mine. This is Geoff Tate please love meeeeeeeeee."

Kixchix ~ :) You only missed one thing "Stay thirsty my friends."

Metalboy ~ WTF ?? Heaven forbid a politician take a stand and be honest for what he believes in and what he likes. Instead of just trying to be the most popular kid in school.

No ipod this morning, but received this link from a fellow football fan:

Just vote for Obama and let big brother whittle away your liberties and rights all that much more. I personally enjoy making my own decisions. You keep being spoonfed by Obama's ad campaign and the Axelrod 'spin' - very scary. Ryan should adopt We're Not Gonna Take it Anymore as his song. If I want to see a 'show' I'll go see Van Halen or LA Guns not the DNC - rather hang out with Ted Nugent as I know he'll shoot straight. Geoff Taint - never like him - never will, Overall, I just want the government out of my pocket and out of ANY decisions that need to be made on my behalf. Peace to all

We agree on Tate but you guys are SO brainwashed. If the only Kool-Aid you drink is FOX, you guyz are lost....

To Mewizemagic, right on brothe! Let's pray the country is not dumb enough to let this socialist have 4 more years to ruin our great country! By the way I like Tates wine but Whitesnake and Warrants were both better!

Wow. If Geoff Tate's infoMErcial wasn't weird enough. The commentary here went way off track.

If anybody wants me political leanings, they can check my Facebook page. (Where I'll point out that "O" is the worst thing to happen to the country since Jimmy Carter.) But for here, & music, I think Geoff Tate has lost his marbles. I wonder if he spits at his wife, Susan, too.

As for Tate, what in the fuck was THAT all about? As for politics,2 words for ya's: Ron Paul......He is the only one that was in the picture that had the countries best interest (not his own or the parties) at heart. 8-)

Tate is a fool. I'm sure he's a Republican't, too! Why you guys vote against your own best interest is beyond me. But don't worry, when Romney picked that kook Ryan who is basically Palin in reverse drag, he ensured our President will be re-elected.

Romney and Ryan could care less about you.

When you're better off 4 years from now I'll know I helped you do it!

I think we would be better off with Tate as our president then the current nightmare that's in office now! Seems the blacks have even soured some on Obama and if thru don't come out in masses again he won't stand a chance!

You think you guys would have learned from the Bush years. I will be looking out for you guys this November since you're incapable of understanding you're only voting against your own best interest if you vote for Ryan/Romney (I show Ryan first on the ticket because it's his fanatical policies that you will really be voting for).

Kevon: This might be the one case where you could think about raising your standards even just a little to excersize at least some semblance of respect when referring to our fellow African American citizens.

Metal boy, dont know what I said that disrespected black people. Was it not true that blacks came out in record numbers to vote for Obama? I dont dislike Obama because he is half black I dislike him because I think he is a bad president. I also believe blacks will vote for him strictly because of his race, and thats the problem. Iam pretty sure black is not a derogatory term.If it is please refer to me as Irish/English American as not to offend White people. I forgot, White people are not allowed to be offended!

I thought this was a metal site?!?! Topics were about glam/sleaze/metal...why all the policitcal rhetoric? Funny but this is EXACTLY what the policticans want....people bickering over "sides" and whatever. The Dems are liberal but have the same closed mindedness that they claim the Reps have...its all a joke. I see absolutely no diference between the sides...both lay claims and make promises that only help themselves. Believe me, behind closed doors they are all whooping it up at the rest of us idiots.

Back to metal please....
September 10, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterJAT
Jat, you are 100% correct! I apologize. Metal boy talks politics here from time to time and sometimes we go off on what this site should be! Metal note, going to see RHINO BUCKET this thursday! cant wait!

I admit, I do bring up Politics from time to time, granted, but I am not alone. Very often, it is triggered by other's comments. It is fascinating, regardless, that so many Metalhead's are Republican. Even your next failure, Paul Ryan, who has to name drop AC/DC and Zeppelin at The 2012 Tea Party and reveals his ignorance even further by listing a politically inspired act, Rage Against The Machine, the band who's leader deplores him, on his iPod.

I, myself, am a Patriot, respectful of our President.

Though there is some validity to your remarks, JAT, there is zero socially redeeming value to Kevon's worthy of a response. His ignorance is showing and belongs in the scrap heap of the same sort of lowbrow commentary belonging to such scholars as Nugent, Mustaine so many other misguided Metaloidz.

As I said before, I will vote to protect your best interests, despite your total lack of understanding as to what those are, ensuring our great President's re-election.

p.s. Even though I dislike Nugent's and Mustaine's idiotic positions, I still love their music.

METAL boy, so if someone disagrees with you its ignorance? Thats a narrow mind you got there fella! Lets pray there is enough ignorant voters out there that will make the correct choice this election! Geoff Tte for president!!!!!!!!!!!!
September 11, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterKEVON
Metal boy, you my friend are no patriot! Patriotism is based on Republicanism your thinking is more Libertarian!
September 11, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterKevon
You are truly lost, Kevon. But I and others will protect you.
September 12, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterMetalboy!
METAL boy ,thank you for what you perceive to be protection for me, Im sure you are genuine. But its you my friend that needs guidance! So I will pray that our next President will save OUR great country. I will take great pride Knowing that my vote will have helped you. Rock on you ''PATRIOT''
