The New Stryper Song Is Really Good

Stryper just released the video for their song "Sympathy." The track is from the album No More Hell to Pay. This is quality music, ya'll. I'm not the biggest Stryper fan - everyone knows that - but props where they are due. The band is solid, and their new album rocks.

Not a big fan of these guys either, but I give them all the credit in the world for being very very good at what they do...Solid musicianship, great vocals, good hooks -- definitely a quality band.

I have to admit, this smokes Slashes new song. My copy has shipped, and I can stream it from Amazon now, I am tempted to do that, this sounds great.

both tracks they have done videos for have been really good, and it seems everyone that's heard it loves it. I've never been the biggest fan either, just like a few tracks, but I may have to pick this one up.

I dig the new Slash song but this is far better. I heard two songs off the new Stryper album on Eddie Trunks show last night. I will buy this, it sounds fantastic. Even though they get a bad rep and i'm not the biggest fan, they impressed me for sure.

This band, much like Kix & Testament, does not age. I'm not a big fan of their lame christianity agenda but they've always rocked!

I like the new song. But am I just being nitpicky and weird by saying that the absence of Oz Fox in the video is almost distracting? He's in shadow for much of the video, almost just blacked out, and in some scenes he's just standing there.

Sweet has always played more leads in Stryper than what casual fans might assume, so I'm not thrown by the fact that Oz isn't featured in the guitar solo sections.

But overall, this video seems like Oz was given the Hugh McDonald - Bon Jovi treatment. Maybe I'm just too big of an Oz fan and I'm nitpicking here.

Fox, you bring up a good point. NOT very Christian of them to do that to Oz. Kinda reminds me of someone else I know, hahaha!!!

It also reminds me of how Lawless used to edit out Holmes in the cuts of many of their videos, actually giving more face time to Riley and Rod. Don't get me wrong, it's just that Holmes was the frickin' guitarist, for chrissakes, pun not intended.

I'm a pretty big Stryper fan and this is by far their best album since To Hell With the Devil. It mixes it, Soldiers under Command, and The Yellow and Black Attack. Far superior to their Murder by Pride which wasn't awful at all.
