These Covers Give Me Faith

Thanks to a teen on YouTube, I have faith that rock n' roll is alive, well and will keep on kicking. 17 year old Jacob Deraps records guitar tracks to songs we love and uploads them to YouTube. This kid is smooth - I hope he's in a band, and writing original music. We need him in the scene.

His riffing on Steal Away The Night was intense. His exuberance made me feel as if I heard that song for the first time.

Good stuff!!!

Cool covers. There's a guy that does bass covers, he's done Crashdiet, Motley, Skid Row, and a few others. People like this need to be more known, because we need more rock n roll, and there is talent out there for sure.

Particulary enjoyed the Ozzy tune. Long time ago I heard that song in a galaxy far, far, away... thanks for reminding me its on my ipod somewhere.

Kid has mondo chops.Hope he keeps his shit together and doesn't fall into the whole "rock and roll lifestyle"trap, because he has a legit shot to make noise on the bigger stages.Kudos Jake. Give 'em hell kid!!!

The kid is good. Fantastic playing. Hope he can write as well.

On a side note hearing "Steal Away" for the first time in a long time, I sometimes forget how good Bob Daisley was on bass on this record. Phenomenal.

Sounds like to me he's just faking playing. The guitar sounds are coming from the songs! Hell fire, any of us could make vids like these.
