Sunday's Best: Week 22, 2022 - Farewell Alec John Such

Our Sunday's Best today is a sad one - according to a Twitter post on the official Bon Jovi account, bassist Alec John Such has died. Right now, there is no cause of death or many other details.

Such was a founding member of Bon Jovi and left the band in 1994. Such was an underrated bass player and a huge part of the band's early hits.

Bummer. Always thought he was cool for some reason. Maybe it was his souls patch. Idk. Too bad he got canned cuz they thought he sucked at bass, or so I seem to have heard.

I, too, had heard that he was booted. Not sure where. Oh wait, I will check. Behind the Music. But I guess all parties decided on the 'I was older and burnt out' thing as a bit of face-saving in later years. Cool to do that, though. Nice to be kind to those who were a part of your history.

RIP AJS. If I am reading the history correctly, you were the older dude who had a hand in getting the band together in the first place. That's a cool fact that no one can take away from you. And I will say that the notes from the Bon Jovi camp (see? I didn't use my usual slang here) were graceful and respectful. Classy move.
