'Lunatic Fringe' - Going Through My Head

For whatever reason I've had "Lunatic Fringe" going through my head the past couple of days. The song is by Red Rider and you surely know it. Thing is, I haven't personally listened to the song in... forever. It was a little disconcerting to wake up to the chorus going through my head over and over each day this past week.

Earlier today, I finally played the song on YouTube so I could listen to it all the way through. Maybe I won't wake up to it in the morning. I have to admit, I wouldn't mind owning As Far As Siam (1981) on vinyl. That album features "Lunatic Fringe" in all its weird and amazing glory. That guitar solo!

WEBN in Cincinnati has used the song as a theme for decades now because they are the "lunatic fringe of American FM." Still, I haven't listened to WEBN in ages because I have SiriusXM.

Maybe I've been reading too much Stephen King? Maybe it's just the nutty world we live in now. No matter, "Lunatic Fringe" is a hell of a catchy song and probably way underrated as far as 80s rock is concerned.

Stephen King is after all a massive rock fan. Maybe he’s got subliminal messaging in his books. Don't go blowing your brains out with a shotgun now! In a few years your hubby will sue King and they’ll put new Adult Advisory stickers on books! Flashback to PMRC Judas Priest lawsuit days. Sorry

Your site. Your thoughts. Roll with it! They are worse songs to be stuck in your cranium. Rock on

as far as siam is a great record start to finish. though the cd sounds a little muffled. not sure about the vinyl, i’ve never listened that version. tom cochrane just has a knack for catchy tunes.
