Last In Line Gets A Record Deal

The early members of Dio are back together in a new group called Last In Line. This means Vivian Campbell, Vinny Appice, Jimmy Bain and Claude Schnell will once again share a stage. The group's singer is Andrew Freeman (you might know him from Lynch Mob).

The exciting thing is that Frontiers just picked up Last In Line, so that means an album is forthcoming. If you take a listen to the video below, you'll note it's just straight up metal. Not a lot of scene chasing going on here, which is great.

'Thunderlust and the Middle Beast'

I received a press email last night alerting me to a new mockumentary about a fictional Glam band. The trailer for Thunderlust and the Middle Beast is below and here's some movie details. It's kind of amusing.

Long-haired, loud, and a long way from home, heavy metal band Thunderlust arrives in Jordan to shoot the music video for their latest album The Middle Beast. Time and luck is running out for them though, and they need to make this work. For as they know too well; in a world that rocks, image makes the difference.

Crazy Lixx just released a video for the song "Hell Raising Women." The band's upcoming self-titled album will be released November 11. Like we discussed a few days ago, I'm really looking forward to this one. I'm also looking forward to the weekend and grateful that it's finally Friday!

Def Leppard Covers "Helen Wheels"

Lots of rock acts are covering Paul McCartney tunes for The Art of McCartney. The set, due November 18, will celebrate the song writing and career of Sir Paul McCartney.

One of the covers included on the box is "Helen Wheels" by Def Leppard. It's an interesting cover, and certainly a different song choice.

The track represents McCartney's time with Wings. The Art of McCartney is available for pre-order on Amazon now. It's under $20.

Harem Scarem Release Album Trailer

Fans of Harem Scarem will love this one: the band just released a trailer for their upcoming album Thirteen. The album will hit stores December 9 and will be released by Frontiers.

When I was playing the trailer last night, Eric said he thought the music sounded like Def Leppard. I kind of agree and I'm pleased with how good these tracks sound.
