22 Semis For Upcoming Aerosmith Tour!

Aerosmith's farewell tour starts in just a few days. The band posted a little behind-the-scenes info yesterday to social media.

Details: this will be the band's biggest tour production ever. In fact, 22 semis will carry the load of rigging points, lights, and heaps of equipment. I can't wait to see the videos pop up online of the first shows. Especially since my tour stop isn't until January!

Aerosmith At Woodstock '94 - Full Performance

T.G.I.F in the biggest way possible!

Thanks to Reddit - I found the video below! Woodstock '94 had about an zillion awesome headline acts. One of them was Aerosmith and I was so devastated that I was way too young to attend this festival. I remember watching the whole thing on MTV the entire weekend it was happening. I will say the rain and mud didn't look too fun, but there is no doubt that '94 was way better than the catastrophe that was Woodstock '99.

Aerosmith Announces New Greatest Hit Package

Aerosmith has announced another greatest hits package. This one happens to come in many configuration options, including vinyl. For example, here's one description:

The Super Deluxe Limited Edition boasts—for the first time ever—44 tracks spanning Aerosmith's five-decade career on 180g custom color vinyl. Featuring "Dream On," "Walk This Way," "Sweet Emotion," "Crazy," "Cryin'," "I Don't Want To Miss A Thing," and many more! Stunning live photography and band photos across their entire career in premium book-style sleeves, plus four black and white lithographs.

I was of course tempted to immediately pre-order the new mega deluxe vinyl package, but really there's no point. With no new tracks, I don't see the value since I have all the records (except Get A Grip, which I'll be ordering). I think I'll hold out for a deluxe, vinyl collection of rarities. You know there's tons of stuff in the Aerosmith vaults, just waiting for release.

But Who Killed Tony Soprano?

Ok, this new video with Steven Tyler and Chris Robinson promoting the Aerosmith / Black Crowes tour is pretty funny. I'm here for this content. I hope we get more videos as the months march toward the tour kickoff.

Also, don't tell me who killed Tony Soprano. I've never seen a single episode of The Sopranos and I might watch it all someday. Maybe.

Aerosmith Announce Farewell Tour, 'Peace Out'

Aerosmith will begin their farewell tour, called "Peace Out," this September in North America. The band announced dates this morning. Sadly, drummer Joey Kramer is not going on tour with the rest of Aerosmith. John Douglas will continue to fill-in on drums.

I'll be targeting the January 4 date in Cincinnati. This is a massive tour at big venues. Tickets will be high. They go on sale Friday. Click below to see all the dates (so far).

This video from Live Nation promoting the show... got me a little:

Aerosmith Teases Tour Announcement

Guitarist Joe Perry let the cat out of the bag on this one via a recent Boston Globe interview, but Aerosmith is apparently going out on a 40-stop tour this fall. Now the band is teasing a big announcement May 1. Obviously I am very interested in this and I hope the band comes somewhere near me.

Apparently the band isn't too worried about Steven Tyler's current legal issues. Tyler had a romantic relationship with Julia Holcomb, a 16 year-old at the time (he was 26). This relationship is pretty well known and was discussed in the 1997 band biography Walk This Way. Tyler later talked about the relationship again in his 2012 autobiography Does The Noise In My Head Bother You? The short of it is, the statute of limitations on sex crimes were lifted in California for a limited time and Holcomb sued Tyler for sexual assault. He filed a legal response arguing the relationship was consensual.

At the time of the filing, which was at the end of December, things looked dire for Tyler and any future touring plans for Aerosmith. The band had just canceled its remaining Las Vegas residency dates because Tyler had an undisclosed illness.

Then the lawsuit happened.

Then silence.

Now things in Aerosmith world are seemingly revving up again. This tells me the lawsuit is probably either going to quietly fade away or dissolve completely and most of the band members are healthy again. I say most because it isn't clear if drummer Joey Kramer will be on tour with Aerosmith in the fall, but it doesn't seem likely. I guess we will know more May 1.

The Joe Perry Project Announces Spring Tour

The Joe Perry Project will hit the road for a short run this spring. The Aerosmith guitarist will also perform over the summer with The Hollywood Vampires. I guess that means if Aerosmith play any shows in 2023, it will be in the fall. That is disappointing to me, but not surprising. Sadly, there are no JPP dates near me. I own all their albums on vinyl!
