The Best Aerosmith Covers Of All Time: Babylon A.D.

In 1999, Babylon A.D. released Live In Your Face, featuring cover songs from famous bands. One of the tracks on the album is "Rats In The Cellar" by Aerosmith. It's kind of crazy how much singer Derek Davis sounds like Steven Tyler at times on this performance.

"Rats In The Cellar" is on the Aerosmith album Rocks. I definitely wanted to include a cover on my best-of highlights because it is one of my favorite Aerosmith tracks. I love talking about the obscure and I think Babylon A.D. Live In Your Face is definitely on the unknown side of things.

The Best Aerosmith Covers Of All Time: Testament

Thrash legends Testament covered my favorite Aerosmith song “Nobody’s Fault” on their 1988 album The New Order. It is considered the band’s breakthrough release.

Testament released an official video for “Nobody’s Fault” and it was played in heavy rotation on MTVs Headbanger’s Ball.

The entirety of The New Order is about social and personal struggles, so “Nobody’s Fault” fits right in. The album is heavy as hell but has plenty of melodic moments too. There’s a reason why The New Order is a thrash-metal classic. Of course, I think the guitar work on the original is better - but not many folks can out-perform Aerosmith's Brad Whitford. On the track, he plays both the rhythm and lead guitar parts. He is a genius, after all.

The Best Aerosmith Covers Of All Time: Guns n' Roses

It's well documented that the members of Guns n' Roses have an affinity for Aerosmith. It's no surprise, then, that GnR covered Aerosmith early and often in their career.

"Mama Kin" is a song on Aerosmith's self-titled debut album. Steven Tyler wrote the song and he famously has the title tattooed on his arm. The band once owned a bar in Boston called "Mama Kin Music Hall."

Guns n' Roses included a live version of "Mama Kin" on their 1988 album Lies.

Axl Rose's vocals are undeniably distinct, and he brings his unique voice to the cover. While Steven Tyler's original vocals are hard to match (and really can't be), Axl's interpretation adds a new layer of energy to the track. His soaring high notes and raspy delivery provide a fitting tribute to the original.

Aerosmith Postpones 'Peace Out' Tour Until 2024

Apparently Steven Tyler's vocal cord injury was worse than first thought... and he even fractured his larynx. Who knew that was even possible from singing? See the announcement below. Sigh.

Steven Tyler Injures Vocal Cord; Aerosmith Reschedules Some Shows

Let's hope this is a one-off situation and doesn't spiral out of control. Aerosmith has postponed a bunch of shows because Steven Tyler hurt a vocal cord on Saturday night. Apparently the cord is bleeding so he obviously can't sing. The list of canceled (and already rescheduled) shows is below. Aerosmith will be off the road for 30 days.

You'll recall a big hunk of the Deuces Are Wild Las Vegas residency was scrapped because Steven was ill or hurt. Now this.

Tesla, 'S.O.S. (Too Bad)' - New Video

Happy football Sunday! Tesla covered Aerosmith on their most recent album Full Throttle Live. The band just released a video of the cover of "S.O.S. (Too Bad)" and it's really great! Also, I want that Aerosmith shirt that Tesla frontman Jeff Keith is rocking. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

"S.O.S. (Too Bad)" is on the Aerosmith album Get Your Wings. It's a hardcore Aero fan favorite for a reason - it's amazing live!

Aerosmith Kick Off 'Peace Out' Farewell Tour

Aerosmith's "Peace Out" tour is officially underway. The goodbye trek started last night in Philadelphia and reviews, photos, videos and the setlist are all popping up online. I'm gonna need "Last Child" and some other swaps by the time my show rolls around in January:

The intro video and stage look badass - but you'll have that when there's endless money to go around! Look how close some fans are to the band when the show starts! This setup is way more in-the-round than originally advertised.

And look how happy the band is - they are all smiles.

Some really close photos from a Redditor lucky enough to be in the pit:

Few shots from the Philly show tonight.

The Wells Fargo Center Instagram also has some awesome concert shots that show the crowd and a fuller stage view. I am excited to say the least!
