Sunday's Best: Week 5, 2022

Yesterday's post about Eddie Vedder vs. Nikki Sixx got me thinking about all the awesome albums that came out in 1991. Yes, Pearl Jam's Ten came out in 1991 and as I said, I did enjoy it. Still, there were way more albums released in 1991 that I loved more - and still do! - to this day.

Sunday's Best this week looks at some of the awesome albums released in 1991. Did I leave off one of your favorites? There were gobs more great albums that came out in 1991. A truly great year for music.

Skid Row - Slave To The Grind.

Metallica - Metallica

Tesla - Psychotic Supper

Ozzy Osbourne - No More Tears

Kix - Hotwire

Guns n' Roses - Use Your Illusion

Van Halen - For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge

Wolfgang Van Halen Joins Guns n' Roses Live For 'Paradise City'

This is a cool video. Mammoth WVH opened many shows for Guns n' Roses on the band's most recent tour leg. On Saturday night, Wolfgang Van Halen joined the Gunners on stage for "Paradise City." The special performance helped cap an end to this segment of the Guns n' Roses tour. The people in the crowd were lucky to see this!

Guns n' Roses Release 'Hard Skool'

Another song from the Chinese Democracy sessions has dropped from Guns n' Roses. The song is called "Hard Skool" and the official audio is below.

You can tell the time period of the vocal recording is from back in the Chinese Democracy days. Axl's voice was very distinctive then. It had a different quality and tone versus the Appetite for Destruction time period. His voice is also different now.

For me, "Hard Skool" is just okay. It's a fine rock track but ultimately not too memorable. Thoughts?

Guns n' Roses Release New Track

Happy Friday - Guns n' Roses have blessed us with a new track. It's actually a piece that Axl Rose has been working on for quite some time but now it is done and recorded and yes, it features Slash and Duff McKagan and the rest of the current lineup. The song is called "Absurd" which is fitting for Guns these days. The song was previously "Silkworms" and was reworked to its current form. What do you think?
