KISS Sell Catalog And More
Gene Simmons is spinning the deal as a "collaboration" but seems like KISS no longer has control over their branding and marketing (but we will see). The deal is part of the move that will let KISS have avatar-based concerts starting in a few years. It will be interesting to see how these catalog deals change music as time marches forward. Deals such as this one mean that KISS will exist in some form or another for a really long time.
That is cool - but - it will be interesting to see how A.I. changes everything music-related. Especially for the classic bands we love.

As hard as it was to watch the last 20 some-odd years of these guys tarnishing on their legacy (putting it politely); I have a bad feeling that the next 25 years will be excruciating.
Remember how bad Star Wars content got after George Lucas sold it to Disney? (and we though the prequels were bad); well this is the equivalent of Gene Simmons saying to George Lucas: "Hold my moneybag soda".
Sad state of affairs, really. But it's kind of been over since Eric Carr died; one victory lap with the brilliant "Revenge" album, and they've been milking the catalog ever since; which I would have thought should go for more than 300m.
In my opinion, they've already existed for far too long. But, maybe that's just me. And I agree, I would have thought it would have been more than $300 mil.
