Sunday's Best: Week 30, 2022

Asking Alexandria has a song called "Another Bottle Down." I might as well write a song called "Another Week Down." It's hard to believe we're heading straight into August, yet here we are with the bulk of summer now behind us. I've kind of had a long day because... reasons. I did find myself inside a Nordstrom earlier and realized the store was playing the oddest version of "Lowdown" by Boz Scaggs, ever. It was some sort of remix. I don't know why the store was playing a house version of "Lowdown" but I didn't hate it. Of course I looked it up on YouTube and I'm not sure the exact track is below, but it sure seems to match. This weird remix is our Sunday's Best for the week. I just know there's got to be some EDM version of Motley Crue's "Shout At The Devil" somewhere. If you find it - or record it - send it to me!

This Is The Good Shit: Aerosmith - Live In 1977

Aerosmith continues to celebrate their 50th anniversary. The other day I mentioned the band would be raiding their vaults and sharing some classic, unreleased live shows. Yesterday, Aerosmith shared "Live From The Summit, Houston, TX, 1977." Act fast because you will only be able to watch the entire concert for one week.

The concerts took place in Houston on June 24 and June 25, 1977 - way before I was even an idea to my parents!

This is old school, down and dirty rock and roll, live and in your face. Enjoy!

Def Leppard, 'This Guitar' - Lyric Video

Def Leppard just dropped a lyric video for their song "This Guitar." The song is on the fabulous new album Diamond Star Halos. I actually saw this first via the Def Leppard email list. Usually I see this stuff on social media well before the email blasts. It was a nice surprise to see something in my email box other than spam.

Happy Friday and good luck to the Americans playing the Mega Millions lottery tonight. The prize is over a billion (yes, with a B!) so of course I grabbed a couple tickets too. When I win, we'll have a big Bring Back Glam! concert - free for everyone!

'Nothing Could Have Stopped Us Back Then Anyway' -- David Lee Roth, New Song

Another surprise track release from David Lee Roth! He just released "Nothing Could Have Stopped Us Back Then Anyway" which is a song about the beginnings of Van Halen. The full track is below.

All these tracks have been sitting around for some time and it does make me wonder why we are getting so many of them now and in such an odd fashion.

Roth literally "announced" the song by dropping a clip of the tune on his social platforms. The music and lyrics are a love letter to those early rock n' roll days for the band, with Diamond Dave looking back and recalling tears and laughter, pranks, heartache and happy meals. This one hits me in all the feels.

'Degradation Rules' - New Ozzy Osbourne Video

Ozzy Osbourne just released a video for his new track "Degradation Rules." The track features iconic guitarist Tony Iommi too. The song will be on the upcoming Ozzy album Patient Number 9, due out in early September. It's a cool track - how can you not love new music from these two metal masters?

Stephen Pearcy Shills For Dollar Loan Center

It's time for another hair metal icon to shill for Dollar Loan Center. This time, RATT's Stephen Pearcy gets the star treatment while he applies for a loan. Shocker, he's approved and the bankers are all really attractive women! Sebastian Bach and Vince Neil have also appeared in such commercials. This just makes me shake my head. Still, a job is a job and I'm sure these commercials paid well... or at least I hope they did.
