Sunday's Best: Week 4, 2022

Happy NFL Championship Sunday! Sending all good thoughts to my Cincinnati Bengals as they face the Kansas City Chiefs.

For Sunday's Best this week, a new music playlist for the month of January. Thank goodness this month is almost over. I despise January - it's always a long, slow slog. It seems like it has been even worse this year. I cannot wait for spring... just 49 days to go! And there are 42 days until Daylight Savings Time begins again. For now, I hope you enjoy these choice songs from Asking Alexandria, Steve Vai and Kissin' Dynamite.

A Reminder That 1987 Was An Incredible Year For Music

From the photo below, I choose Def Leppard's Hysteria. Yes, this means I'm passing on both Aerosmith and Guns n' Roses, but for me, no other album captures 80s metal more than Hysteria. Which album do you choose?

I Don't Expect Any Setlist Surprises From Motley Crue

So a fan asked Nikki Sixx on Twitter for "hints about The Stadium Tour setlist." Nikki responded, offering no "hints." I think we all know the setlist is going to be the same as ever other Motley show. During the "final" tour, Motley played everything you would expect: "Shout At The Devil," "Girls, Girls, Girls," "Dr. Feelgood," "Wild Side" and the like. Now maybe one or two songs will deviate from show to show, but I can't see more than that. If you are looking for deep tracks, I don't think you are going to get them.

Rock Fest Announces Lineup For 2022

Rock Fest happens every summer in Cadott, Wisconsin. There will be over 70 bands at the event this July. Three-day ticket holders can access a special "kick-off" night featuring Glam acts like Lita Ford, Warrant and Firehouse. Honestly, that pre-fest night looks the best to me of all the days, but I would like to see Escape The Fate again. Tickets are still available, but VIP is sold-out.

Quiet Riot Announces 2022 Tour Dates

Quiet Riot is going out on the road this year and for a lot of dates. The band released a lot of dates last week and you can see them on the Facebook post below. I will be at the Xenia, Ohio show but I am a bit baffled at the venue - that is an outdoor amphitheater mostly known for literary events. The date is a Saturday night, so it should be a fun show. No word on ticket prices or tour partners or anything like that.

45 Years Of Def Leppard

This year marks the 45th anniversary of Def Leppard.

One of my very favorite band shirts is one that Heather gave me many years ago. It has the Leps band name on the front and the number "77" on the back in yellow. It is raglan style - and sort of resembles a sports jersey. It is kind of cool to know that the band is going to commemorate the anniversary all year long. You can share your memories of the Leps on social media.
