New Music Playlist - April 2022

It's hard to believe, but it is the last day of April. We are about to roll over into May and run headfirst into the summer concert season, pool weather and my favorite time of the year.

Just a few days ago, Dorothy released a new album called Gifts From The Holy Ghost. It is definitely worth your time and attention and is featured as the new music playlist for April 2022.

You Know You're Old When...

Want a sign that we're all old now? Nearly every recent post on Blabbermouth is about a new band... featuring a member fathered by a musician we love. Don't believe me? Check out the posts below.

So does this mean the torch has officially been passed? Or are we in a weird limbo where the classic bands and their offspring will continue to compete head-to-head for fans for many years to come? This could be really interesting to watch, especially if those younger acts get really famous too.

From Motley Coffee... to Def Leppard Tea

Sitting down to relax after a long day and I just saw the commercial linked below. Apparently Pure Leaf brand tea has a lower sugar option now. The brand is using Def Leppard's "Pour Some Sugar On Me" for the ad campaign with some altered lyrics about less sugar and a woman doing the singing. Honestly, it's pretty weird, but this is how money is made in music in 2022. What do you think?

Farewell Randy Rand

This is sad news that I didn't see until this morning. Randy Rand, founding bass player for Autograph, has passed. No cause of death has been released but the statement from Autograph below does note the news was "unexpected." "Turn Up The Radio" remains one of my favorite songs!

Aerosmith Announces Another Anniversary Concert

Celebrating their 50th anniversary, Aerosmith has announced another show as part of the fun. The band will play Bangor, Maine. Apparently, the city has been trying to get Aerosmith for a decade. The show is September 4th at the Maine Savings Amphitheater. Tickets go on sale Friday. No doubt this will sellout. So many east coast fans do not want to travel all the way to Las Vegas for the residency. This is a good second choice.

Obscure Monday Metal - Shy

Here's something rare for your Monday - a song called "Never Trust A Stranger" from the band Shy. It is from the album Misspent Youth and was released in 1989. Shy was a British band that were never very big. Certainly, they should have been bigger considering the talent. Sadly, a couple of the members passed way too soon, including singer Tony Mills. He died in 2019 of cancer.

Sunday's Best: Week 16, 2022

It's Sunday again and another busy week is in the books. The weather here was awesome yesterday and looks to be the same today. Dare I say it was even a little... hot? Well, it felt that way after four hours of yard work!

Today, for your Sunday's Best pleasure, a stupid web-ad for Motley Crue's new coffee. Yes, Motley has coffee now. The coffee is brewed by Brewtality Crew. The coffee is $20 is a bag. There are T-shirt bundles too.
