Red Dragon Cartel Release New Video

Jake E. Lee's Red Dragon Cartel just released a new video for their song "Shout It Out." The song is from the band's self-titled debut.

I read some comments on the video, complaining about D.J. Smith and his vocals. Suddenly it dawned on me why people are complaining about Red Dragon Cartel period: the band sounds modern. I guess everyone just assumed Jake E. Lee would form a retro (read:80s) sounding sort of metal band. When that didn't exactly happen, I guess it caused a little shock. I get that. I listened to "Shout It Out" about five times in a row, thinking about the track. I decided it sounds like something that commercial rock radio will definitely play... and really, that has to be goal here. I mean, this is professional music and the guys in Red Dragon Cartel want to book shows and make money. Making songs that fit in with today's rock scene makes sense. What do you think?

Black Stone Cherry Stream New Song

Black Stone Cherry just started streaming their new single "Me and Mary Jane" online. The song is off the forthcoming album Magic Mountain. The track smokes (pun intended).

Once again, Black Stone Cherry prove they are one of the most consistent modern rock acts going today.

Crashdiet Re-Release First Demo

I feel so old. I can't believe the guys in Sweden's Crashdiet are celebrating ten years together. The band is re-releasing an original demo of songs and calling the package Illegal Rarities: Vol. 1. It includes some previously unreleased tracks.

The band isn't selling very many copies of this special anniversary demo, so head on over to the official Crashdiet website soon if interested.

'Rock You Like A Hurricane' Acoustic

The Scorpions recently released the CD/DVD package MTV Unplugged. To celebrate and promote that album, the band released an acoustic version of their most famous track "Rock You Like A Hurricane." The song doesn't initially scream "acoustic" does it? Somehow, it works.

2Cellos Cover 'Thunderstruck'

Here's an AC/DC cover like you've never heard before.

Croatian duo 2Cellos perform "Thunderstruck" in a very amazing way. The ending is crazy and I even give the guys props for producing a real music video, complete with great costumes, too. Check out the video below.

If you are so inclined, search for 2Cellos on YouTube. The duo have gobs of other great covers including "Back in Black" and "Welcome to the Jungle." And yes, there are plenty of 2Cellos videos featuring traditional classical music as well.

No Original KISS Reunion At Rock Hall Induction?

Ace Frehley recently confirmed what most of us already assumed: there will be no original lineup reunion at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony in April. Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley apparently nixed the idea and will play with Tommy Thayer and Eric Singer instead.

Frehley is understandably annoyed and doesn't know if he will even show up to the induction.

Blabbermouth has a whole write-up and interview with Ace about the fiasco. This is turning into Van Halen all over again. It's such a shame that these bands we love can't get along for 15 minutes to accept an award, play two songs, take a photo and be done with it.

Winger Tease New Music

A few days ago, Winger put a teaser online for their new song "Rat Race." I have to say, it sounds darn rocking. "Rat Race" is just one track from the band's forthcoming album. Better Days Comin,’ which will hit stores in April.

Amazingly, five videos are already shot for this album and a world tour is also in the works.
