KISS Release Teaser Of New Single

KISS has teamed up Japanese group Momoiro Clover Z to create the song "Yume No Ukiyo Ni Saitemina." A teaser of that clip is below. The song will be officially released in a couple weeks. Please enjoy and have a safe New Year's Eve celebration tonight.

Let me know if you've got any metal plans. I know lots of people like to go to concerts and bars but I prefer to stay home and watch Anderson Cooper. I don't like going out on New Year's Eve -- makes me nervous.

The Scorpions, 'Lovedrive' (Live in 1980)

YouTube is great for discovering classic gems. Case in point, this classic Scorpions live clip of "Lovedrive" from way back in 1980. Filed in Paris. Truly amazing.

Sebastian Bach Goes After Fan

So Sebastian Bach went nuts on a fan during a recent show in Toronto. Apparently the fan bumped (or maybe pushed) into his 70 year old mom. Video of the incident is below.

So let's unpack this. 1) I don't condone Bach going ballistic on anyone, but 2) if someone was legitimately shoving my mom, I'd be pissed too and let it be known and 3), why was his mom even in the crowd? She should have just been sidestage or backstage. What do you think?

Purging Physical Media

So what's wrong with getting rid of physical media? Yesterday, I mentioned trying to stay away from buying physical media these days - electronic files will do fine, thanks. A couple of you said this was basically horrible. I get the joy of collecting music. Or rather, I used to, but I just don't care to have piles of discs sitting around anymore. It's just more stuff accumulating dust since I stream music from an electronic source these days (MP3 player, laptop, etc).

So for those of you still in love with collecting physical albums, what do you do with all those discs? Do you display them? Do you keep them in a tub and sort through when it's time to play a different band? Just wondering. Happy Saturday!

Music Gifts?

Did anyone receive any music related gifts for Christmas or Chanukah? I didn't receive a single CD this year. I am trying to completely get away from physical media and I pretty much rely on Amazon Prime music or MP3 files for all my music now.

I certainly don't need any more band T-shirts, box sets, posters, records, instruments. In fact, I'm in the process of leaning out my possessions (again). I know a lot of people are big collectors and really love giving and receiving gifts of music. If you received (or gave) anything cool, please share!
