I Had No Idea Joe Perry Worked With Pitbull

Happy Easter! Picture it: I'm doing a weightlifting session with my Tempo earlier today. I had the music muted on the device because I was listening to the trainer. I did happen to notice the song title scrolling at the bottom was "Get Ready" by Pitbull, Blake Shelton... and Joe Perry. I thought that was totally odd and made a mental note to check it out after my workout.

Turns out, "Get Ready" isn't the first time my beloved guitarist Joe Perry collaborated with Pitbull. He also appears on the song "Bad Man" alongside Travis Barker and Robin Thicke. Gotta say, I much prefer "Bad Man" to "Get Ready." I just can't do country music. Even if it features Joe Perry and some rap.

Nikki Sixx Teases New Motley Crue Music, Setlists

Ok, I'll believe it when I see it, but Motley Crue bassist Nikki Sixx just posted that he is working on new music for the band. Plus, he's been working with Tommy Lee to change up the setlist for shows this summer. I would welcome that for sure because hearing the same songs at every concert gets old.

The band has a deep enough catalog to mix things up. The top song I would want Motley to drop from their live set is "Kickstart My Heart." I know that isn't going to happen, but I just can't listen to that one anymore. It's like me with AC/DC and "Back in Black." Too much of a good thing ruins it after a point.

Aerosmith To Be An April 'Peloton Featured Artist'

Let me first say I don't own any Peloton equipment. I do have a complete home gym, but I only buy what I know and that means Life Fitness and Pro Form. At any rate, you can get the Peloton app for exercises and programs without owning their bikes and treads and apparently they have a featured artist series. Well Aerosmith will be featured on April 11. I would definitely be interested in an Aerosmith run and the yoga. Really, how does one do yoga to Aerosmith?

  • 30 min. Aerosmith Ride – Bradley Rose – 4/11/24 @ 1:00pm ET
  • 20 min. Aerosmith Int. Full Body Strength – Andy Speer – 4/11/24 @ 6:00pm ET
  • 30 min. Aerosmith Yoga Flow – Mariana Fernández – 4/11/24 @ 6:30pm ET
  • 30 min. Aerosmith Run – Rebecca Kennedy – 4/11/24 @ 7:00pm ET

Anyway, happy Friday and happy fitness!

Bon Jovi, 'Legendary' - Lyric Video

Bon Jovi now has a lyric video for their new single "Legendary." From the upcoming album Forever. I think lyric videos are the modern version of liner note lyrics sheets. I mean, most folks don't buy physical media anymore and everyone is attached to a cellphone, meaning lyric videos are always at hand.

Skid Row Announce Lead Singer Departure

Erik Grönwall has left Skid Row. The band says the departure was amicable and Erik says he had to leave the rigors of a touring band because of his health and continued recovery from cancer.

Interestingly, Lzzy Hale of Halestorm will fill in for the band's already-scheduled dates. I think that is amazingly cool and will be fun to see. I hope Erik continues on his path to health. Touring has to be a nightmare of exhaustion for anyone, let alone someone recovering from cancer. I wish him well... and this will just fuel more Sebastian Bach "return to the fold" rumors.

Happy 76th Birthday, Steven Tyler!

While his throat continues to mend, lots of music fans and fellow superstars are wishing Steven Tyler a happy 76th birthday today. A couple days ago, more rumors popped up online about rescheduled Aerosmith tour dates. I just hope Steven can sing again. At least for one last Aerosmith ride!
