Halestorm - "I Get Off"

Fellow Glam lovers:
I had a late night at the fabulous Charm City Devils album release party. It's good to be in Baltimore with old - and hopefully new - friends. A lot of you are here for the fest - maybe we'll see each other. For the rest who couldn't make it out, please follow me on Twitter. I'll be posting updates through the day. With so many great bands and crazy fans in one place, there's bound to be a little chaos.
I know I'm interviewing a few bands on site, so stay tuned for that. Pictures and set lists coming soon enough. Here's hoping I don't get sunburned!
Can I get a hell yeah?
Can I get a good Lord?
Lets Rock n' Roll is the debut effort by Baltimore's Charm City Devils (Eleven Seven). Discovered and groomed by Nikki Sixx, Charm City Devils have a straight ahead rock sound with a Glam vibe.
Yeah, they kind of rule.
You probably already know the song "Let's Rock n' Roll (Endless Road)." The song was used in the promo videos for Crue Fest last year and is the first single from the album of the same name.
There are a lot of really great songs on Lets Rock n' Roll and my favorite - by far - is "True Love (Hell Yeah)." Talk about a party anthem with a chorus that just gets stuck in your head. It's impossible to not sing along with "Hell Yeah" - it's just that good.
I'm also digging "Best of the Worst" and "Money." Both are gritty rockers. No, the guys in Charm City Devils are not reinventing rock here, but that's not what they've set out to do. Lets Rock n' Roll is a party album - built for summer, made for fun.
You can celebrate the band's new album tonight in Baltimore at The Quarter. The album release party is also being dubbed as the official M3 warm-up gig. I'll be there.
Someone on Metal Sludge posted a rumor that Steel Panther was off the M3 bill...but was being replaced by Cinderella. Anyone who knows anything about band placement knows Steel Panther and Cinderella are not an equal swap, but whatever. Some people were really upset by the rumor, so I contacted the publicist for Steel Panther and here's what he just told me:
"Allyson, good news, just got a text from Starr. They are playing and are playing the radio show afterwards. So please put those rumors to rest. Please send back a report if you go."
Of course I'll be doing reports from the field!
At any rate, I hope everyone is ready. It's going to be a whirlwind weekend.
Who here remembers Reckless?
Raise your hand.
I'm waiting.
Ok, well, Reckless is (yes, is - the band still exists!) a Canadian rock outfit that is basically all Glam. I think Reckless originally tried to be a cross of Helix and Def Leppard, but I'm not sure they achieved that goal. Now, this isn't your most "known" of all Glam bands, but guitarist Steve Madden apparently has quite the Glam rep for women, big hair and the other bits that go along with being a rock star.
Anyway, I don't know near enough about the band's history to write it all down but they do have a funny website, so it’s all good. Go read about their history, pins, paternity tests…and road crew.
Seriously.
When you’re done reliving the joy of Canadian Glam, watch this clip for the band’s most famous song “Hot and Ready.” Doesn't suck but I think the vocals are a little thin.
Los Angeles, CA (May 27, 2009) – Legendary band KISS made headlines last month when they announced their U.S. and Canadian tour will be the world’s first to put fans in charge of where a tour is routed. Now, KISS is adding even more excitement to their tour as they announce the selection of Buckcherry as the opening act for all dates. This is destined to be the most explosive show of the year; and by partnering with Web site Eventful, fans will “Demand” exactly where KISS and will perform in (top-voted) North American markets beginning this September
Buckcherry fans can now join the hundreds of thousands of KISS fans that have voted to date at www.eventful.com/KISS. They have just six more weeks—until voting ends on June 30th— to “Demand” what cities they want to see the tour hit. No matter where the fans say—“from stadiums to cornfields”--if there are enough votes, the KISS tour will be there! And in order to keep the competition fair for smaller cities, final site selection will weigh population size versus total votes. More than 8,000 cities and towns are already represented on the fan-submitted list.
In conjunction with joining the tour, Buckcherry will run a “Talk To Me” promotion to support their latest single. Fans can call the Buckcherry hotline at 213-784-4536 and enter by leaving the band a message and voting on the Eventful widget on the band’s website http://www.Buckcherry.com. Fans all over North America can enter and Josh Todd or Keith Nelson from Buckcherry will call one winner in each of the chosen markets to tell the winner that they are coming to their city with KISS and that they have won the first pair of tickets to the show in their town. The contest ends June 30 at 11:59pm EST. The single impacts at active and mainstream rock radio on June 15.
Glam, I love this band. Do you? You should.
