Vypera, 'Riding On The Wind' - New Video

I've been digging the band Vypera from Sweden. They have a new album coming out called Race Of Time, due June 16 via Frontiers. One of the songs on that album is "Riding On The Wind" and the video for that track is below. The chorus of "Riding On The Wind" is catchy as hell and if it doesn't make you smile, you might be dead inside. I said what I said. Also, shout out to all the classic band T-shirts worn in the clip!

Formed in 2016, Vypera says their influences are Rainbow, Icon, King Kobra, London, Triumph and W.A.S.P. What do you think?

Motley Crue After - NFL Draft Concert Videos

Motley Crue played a concert yesterday to close out the second night of the NFL Draft. The free show was streamed live online for folks not at the Draft to enjoy. The gig was supposed to start at 11 p.m. - I waited until 11:40 p.m. and then gave up.

I checked out a few of the clips online this morning. It's hard to tell what the band really sounded like because of crowd noise and folks singing along.

Here's "Wild Side"

Here's "Home Sweet Home"

Here's "Live Wire"

I Guess I'm Seeing Tesla And Steelheart This Summer!

This was a nice concert announcement surprise this morning: Tesla and Steelheart will play Fraze Pavilion, a smallish venue near my community. I am gathering a decent amount of concerts for the summer - all intimate venues or outdoor club shows with average-to-low ticket prices.

Today's announcement means that Tesla is slowly adding dates to their tour, so check their website or socials frequently. A show might be coming near you, too.

'Want To Be Wanted' -- Mr. Big, New Video

Mr. Big just shared a lyric video for their previously unreleased song "Want To Be Wanted." The song is included on the special Record Store Day (RSD) release of their self-titled album. That RSD release is remastered and pressed on 180gram blue vinyl. I believe the release was limited to 1,000 copies.

I know that Catacomb Records in Dayton, Ohio had a few copies of the album, but I didn't buy one when I did my shopping spree. There is only so much money to go around.

Aerosmith Teases Tour Announcement

Guitarist Joe Perry let the cat out of the bag on this one via a recent Boston Globe interview, but Aerosmith is apparently going out on a 40-stop tour this fall. Now the band is teasing a big announcement May 1. Obviously I am very interested in this and I hope the band comes somewhere near me.

Apparently the band isn't too worried about Steven Tyler's current legal issues. Tyler had a romantic relationship with Julia Holcomb, a 16 year-old at the time (he was 26). This relationship is pretty well known and was discussed in the 1997 band biography Walk This Way. Tyler later talked about the relationship again in his 2012 autobiography Does The Noise In My Head Bother You? The short of it is, the statute of limitations on sex crimes were lifted in California for a limited time and Holcomb sued Tyler for sexual assault. He filed a legal response arguing the relationship was consensual.

At the time of the filing, which was at the end of December, things looked dire for Tyler and any future touring plans for Aerosmith. The band had just canceled its remaining Las Vegas residency dates because Tyler had an undisclosed illness.

Then the lawsuit happened.

Then silence.

Now things in Aerosmith world are seemingly revving up again. This tells me the lawsuit is probably either going to quietly fade away or dissolve completely and most of the band members are healthy again. I say most because it isn't clear if drummer Joey Kramer will be on tour with Aerosmith in the fall, but it doesn't seem likely. I guess we will know more May 1.

The Defiants Release New Song

The Defiants, a quasi- Danger Danger side band, just released "19 Summertime." The song is on the upcoming album Drive due June 9, via Frontiers.

"19 Summertime" is definitely a summer anthem and fun Glam track. I think you will like it a lot - especially the guitar parts. I dig it!

'Separate Ways (World's Apart)' -- New Cover

In early January, Daughtry and Lzzy Hale teamed up for an awesome cover of the Journey classic "Separate Ways (World's Apart)." The cover was to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the iconic tune.

Chris Daughtry is a criminally underrated singer and I really enjoyed his performance on this track. This is such a fun cover and I added it to my running playlist.
