The End Of 2022

It's the last day of 2022 and for many people, it's also a "good riddance." The year was bad for many folks I know but here's hoping that our 2023 is bright and full of possibility and great opportunities. Thank you for taking the time to read BBG! this past year. I appreciate our little family and the conversations in the comments section - even if they get a little rough sometimes.

If you are going out to celebrate tonight, please be careful and don't drink and drive. Many cities are offering free rides, plus there is always Uber, Lyft and a good old fashioned cab service.

Don't beat yourself up too much with a list of resolutions, either. Small, incremental changes work best for behavior modification and one setback doesn't mean giving up all your progress. So good luck to all of you who are vowing to lose weight, exercise more, save more money, quit smoking or a whole other litany of popular resolutions. You can do it!

Nickelback - 'Unredeemable (Redeemable Version)' -- Video

I do not have Apple+ TV so I have not watched the holiday movie Spirited. It stars Ryan Reynolds and Will Ferrell. Apparently it's the most watched movie ever on that streaming service, so it must be good.

Nickelback did a song for the film called "Unredeemable" and the video for that track is below. A nice surprise to randomly discover this track today! Seemed like I needed to share now before the holiday season is officially over!

'Everybody Wants Some' -- New David Lee Roth Version

David Lee Roth continues to re-record old Van Halen hits for fans. The most recent song on his remake list is "Everybody Wants Some." While some folks think these remakes are unnecessary - I enjoy them.

That Time Slash Auditioned In A Capital One Commercial

Ok, honestly this is kind of a cute commercial: Slash auditions for a guitar spot in a local garage band. It's an "easy decision" picking Slash, just like choosing Capital One Bank. Or so says the ad itself.

Some of the comments on the clip make me want to go back to bed, though. Folks asking who the guitarist is and what song he is playing. Then people being helpful and saying things like "Guns n' Roses, a very famous band." Just... wow.

Sunday's Best: Week 52, 2022

Well, here we are: It's Christmas day and we're at the last week of the year. Soon we will be watching the ball drop in Times Square and 2023 will be foisted upon us. For now, I hope you have a Merry Christmas. If the holiday isn't your thing or you are spending the day alone, I wish you a quiet and restful Sunday.

Here's a cover of "All I Want For Christmas Is You" by From Ashes To New. The video made me chuckle and I felt like I was in Hot Topic while listening to it. And yes, it's definitely better than the original Mariah Carey classic - I can't take her version any more!
