A New Supergroup Is Here: Black Star Riders

If you dig Thin Lizzy, then you're going to love Black Star Riders. The new supergroup, featuring Thin Lizzy alumni, will release a debut album on May 28. Here's some information about the new band. The song below is very promising.

BLACK STAR RIDERS - the new band formed by THIN LIZZY alumni Ricky Warwick (vocals), Scott Gorham (guitar), Damon Johnson (guitar) and Marco Mendoza (bass) with new addition Jimmy DeGrasso on drums - will release its debut album, All Hell Breaks Loose on May 28 via Nuclear Blast Entertainment. While THIN LIZZY will continue on an occasional basis, BLACK STAR RIDERS is a full-time band described as "the next step in the evolution of the Thin Lizzy story". All Hell Breaks Loose was recorded and mixed by producer Kevin Shirley (LED ZEPPELIN, IRON MAIDEN, AEROSMITH, RUSH) at The Cave studios in Malibu, California. Mastering duties were handled by Bob Ludwig (JIMI HENDRIX, RUSH, KISS, LED ZEPPELIN) at Gateway Mastering Studios in Portland, Maine.

Who Remembers Whizkey Stik?

I found some obscure 70s hard rock on YouTube last night. The band is called Whizkey Stik and I kind of dig them. Problem is, there isn't much online about them. I know the band is from Astoria, Oregon. I guess they didn't get far in the business. Interesting to me because I sort of feel like I found a hidden rock gem. Someone, tell me what you know about this band.

Aerosmith Live at the Stone Festival

Aerosmith played the Stone Festival in Sydney, Australia on April 20. Video clips of the performance are just now starting to pop up on YouTube. I followed along on Twitter during the show a little. The consensus seems to be that Van Halen sounded lousy due to a poor sound mix and Aerosmith should have headlined. I could have told you that, but I'm biased. I think I read awhile back that Aerosmith and Van Halen got three million bucks to do the fest. Not a bad payday for 90 minutes of work each!

Still Got It: Heart

Heart performs at the 2013 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony on April 18. These vocals are insane. Enjoy!

The New Black Sabbath Song Gives Me Chills

Do you love doom metal? Black Sabbath? Yes to both? Then you will love the band's new song "God is Dead?" from the upcoming album 13. The song just churns and churns and then you get that classic Ozzy snarl. I figured the song would have to grow on me, because that's usually my relationship with every Sabbath tune. Not so in this instance. "God is Dead?" immediately impresses. I wasn't necessarily looking forward to 13, but now I am. The album is due June 11.

Details for the annual UPROAR Festival were recently released. Let me say, I think it is ridiculous that there isn't an Ohio date for this tour. Bands will be announced in a week. If you like clues and things, the UPROAR Fest is posting tidbits on their Instagram. When the bands are announced, I'll create a Cred.FM playlist for us to enjoy. Here's the fest info so far:

Kingdom Come Has A New Video

Kingdom Come has a new album called Outlier. The band just released a video for the single "God Does Not Sing Our Song." Outlier will be released in America in May 7.

To me, this doesn't sound like Kingdom Come from back in the day. What do you think?
