Sick New World Festival Canceled

As far as festivals go, Sick New World was going to be one of the biggest of 2025 with Metallica and Linkin Park as headliners. Yesterday, festival organizers posted an update on their socials stating that the event isn't going to happen and refunds will be automatic. Whatever happened (I'm sure it was all monetary) must have been near cataclysmic to decide to just up and pull the plug.

Another Post-Shooting Update From Jake E. Lee

Guitarist Jake E. Lee provided another update as he continues to heal from being shot multiple times back in October.

Jake posted a Thanksgiving message to explain why he (thinks) he was shot while walking his dog in the middle of the night. According to Jake, the shooter wasn't aiming for him... the assailant was aiming toward CoCo the dog.

The good news is that Jake doesn't seem to think he has any longterm damage to his fretting arm and he continues to heal. He promises another update in the future as he works through his trauma.

Back When MTV News Was A Thing

Happy Thanksgiving, my fellow Americans. Here's a little something to watch in-between all that food and football. A true blast from the past, MTV News style.

This report is all about Damn Yankees! I can't believe news footage looked this horrible in the beforetimes.

Mark Mendoza Releases New Christmas Track

This is certainly a change for Twisted Sister bass player Mark Mendoza. He's teamed up with singer Marla Adler for a new Christmas song. It's called "I'm Your Christmas Present" and there is nothing metal here. It's all pop, all the time.

I mean, the song is kind of catchy, but not my thing. But good for Mendoza to get some new work out there.

Guns n' Roses Europe Tour?

Will Guns n' Roses tour Europe in 2025?

The graphic below started floating around online yesterday. There are no official dates on the band's website. Also the graphic has Vienna as part of Italy... and that isn't right so who knows.

The way GnR does things, it wouldn't surprise me if a tour announcement came out this way.

Remembering Eric Carr; Freddie Mercury

November 24, 1991 was a hard day in the music world.

It seems unbelievable, but drummer Eric Carr has been gone 33 years as of today. Same for singer Freddie Mercury. Both KISS and Queen posted remembrances for their lost members. Two of the greats for sure.
