No, he really did. Then he took a picture of it, branded it with a logo and put it on his Facebook page. I'm glad he feels better - he didn't miss his show, even in pain. I will say this: the man keeps on pushing, even while sick. That's not necessarily a good thing, but he never rests.

Guys, We've Reached Peak Cover Tune

We've hit full circle here. After posting about Weezer's big hit covering Toto... Toto has returned the favor and is now covering Weezer's "Hash Pipe." Either nothing matters... or it all matters. I haven't decided yet.

The Toto money quote from Rolling Stone:

“We figured since we were smoking hash since before they were born, that’s the one we should do,” guitarist Steve Lukather told the crowd. “This is our tribute to Weezer, god bless ’em.”

This sort of sets the mind ablaze. We can think of all sorts of odd band pairs that can cover each other. Think about it: Imagine Dragons covering L.A. Guns. MGMT covering Kix. Why not? There are no rules anymore about anything really. Might as well have fun.

Weezer vs. Toto

A couple of months ago, Weezer did a cover of Toto's classic "Africa." The band recorded the song after a lengthy online campaign by fans. 

I first heard this song a couple weeks ago while at the chiropractor. I was nervous and the song was intriguing enough to me that I was able to relax a little. I even thought, "Gee, this version of 'Africa' might even be better than the original!" What do you think?
