Ridiculous Music News Of The Week

The Associated Press referred to Robert Durst as "The former Limp Bizkit frontman." I don't even know how this sort of journalistic mistake happens. Fred Durst fronted the Bizkit of course. In case you didn't know, multimillionaire Robert Durst was just arrested on murder charges for the 2000 death of his friend Susan Berman.

I mean, I'm no Limp Bizkit fan. But seriously. Did NO ONE at the AP think to just Google either the Robert Durst or the Limp Bizkit Wikipedia page in a half-assed attempt at cross-checking? Good grief.

Larry King Interviews Steel Panther

I don't know how I missed this over the weekend, but good night. Larry King interviewed Steel Panther and it is pretty much exactly as you would expect. I have no idea how Steel Panther got hooked up with Larry King, but good for all parties involved. That's what we call brand expansion!

We Are Harlot, 'The One' -- New Video

Danny Worsnop was the singer of Asking Alexandria... then he recently left the band to start a new project called We Are Harlot. Danny loves Glam bands and you can hear that influence a lot here. The song "The One" is from the self-titled debut due later this month.

Steven Tyler Signs New Record Deal

Apparently Steven Tyler just signed a deal with Big Machine Label Group... to make a country album. I can't even with this news. I mean, are you kidding me? Tyler announced months ago his intent to go country, but was then silent on the matter... I sort of hoped it was a phase. Apparently not since he moved to Nashville and is apparently really working on the project. According to Billboard, the album will likely come out next winter. Good grief.

Anvil Releases New Video

Anvil has a new video out, which was a surprise to me. It's for the track "Hope In Hell." I understand Anvil's place in metal, but they were never one of my top bands. What do you think?

Monsters of Rock Announces 2016 Dates

Porting from Miami next February 22-26, 2016, the Monsters of Rock Cruise will sail aboard Norwegian Cruise Line’s Pearl. Looks like bands confirmed so far are Queensryche, Kingdom Come, Helix, John Corabi and Killer Dwarfs. Monsters of Rock will also do a fall cruise out of California in 2016. So far, no bands listed for that yet. Leaving out of a California port makes a lot of sense. All the music cruises do south Florida but adding a West Coast vibe will help bring in new passengers I think.
