Remember This? White Trash, 'Apple Pie'

I heard White Trash, "Apple Pie" on the radio last night. Now, I have satellite radio so it wasn't that surprising, but still. Talk about digging up some obscure Glam. I always considered White Trash a sort of Glam/funk hybrid. There wasn't any other band quite like them, was there? They didn't get huge or anything but I swear I remember seeing "Apple Pie" on MTV quite a lot. So let's take roll: who owns White Trash (release year 1991)?

me and my friends were just talking about these guys. We were saying how they should have never gotten lumped into the "glam" genre. There album would have done much better if it came out a few years later.

I don't own the album, but I did see the play once - in a college library of all places, oddest venue I've ever seen a concert.

Liked the song when it came out, and still do really, but never got into them enough to buy the album.

I have 2 copies of the first album and 1 copy of the second, all in mint condition. Why mint? Didn't like 'em then. Don't like 'em now.

Funk (generally) duzn't belong in Glam Metal. Ask Bang Tango about their floppo "Dancing On Coals" album. I'll admit, sometimes funk kinda works but really only as a little tid bit in a song like the bass line break in Love/Hate's "Why Do You Think They Call It Dope".

There have been some amusing covers of 70's funk songs from Chick Metallerz such as Precious Metal's "Mr. Big Stuff" or Lee Aaron's "Tell Me Something Good", but that duzn't mean they're necessarily good.

Outright horrible is a way to best describe another cover of "Tell Me Something Good" by pomp AOR/Melodic Metal closet redneck borefests, Wild Horses (Gee, I guess from my description, I must just think the world of that band, hahaha!!! NOT!).

In the immortal (unfortunately) words of another "band" even more horrible than Wild Horses, Extreme:

"Get The Funk Out".

Fortunately, Extreme used their words on themselves, and took themselves out of the picture as they quickly disappeared into the cut-out bins. What a shame that Nuno Buttencourtjester didn't know to get out and join a real rock'n'roll band where his abilities could have really shined. Such a waste of a truly exceptional guitarist's talents.

C'mon, Rock'n'Roll People! People, let's Rock'n'Roll!

Owned the cassette when it came out, found the CD in a dollar bin within the last couple of years so bought that too. I think I had the 2nd CD too but it's no longer in my collection. Looks like they put out a new CD last year. http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/whitetrash
