How Did You Do?

With Labor Day behind us, festival season is basically over in America. This sort of means concert season is over, too -- not that I don't attend shows in the winter -- it's just that there are less tours to enjoy.

So how did you do? Did you attend a lot of fun shows this summer or did you skip because of insanely high ticket prices? I had a very productive concert season and that's probably why I'm so bummed right now. I get depressed when the cold weather hits Ohio, anyway. That hasn't happened yet, but I know the snow is just around the corner. In the summer, I always have a show planned. In the winter, not so much.

Before the snow hits, I've got a couple concerts planned including Skid Row in Dayton and Nickelback in Kentucky (I even won free tickets!) Then of course I've got Shiprocked in November. Still, when I'm coming off something like seven festivals - I'm blue. I'm trying to shake the sads, but I'm having trouble doing that on this post-holiday back-at-work Tuesday.

What shows do you have coming up?

Nickelback?! You really are trying to drive me off of here, aren't you!

Still, it was great meeting you and all our Bringbackglammerz at M3. Just wish I coulda seen the Schenker Brothers with y'all at Rock'n'America. That had to be THE highlight of the Summer Festival Circuit, I would imagine.

I will see if I can still swing Shiprocked!

Gee, I better get my Iron Maiden tank-top t-shirt ready for that one...

NOT!

This summer was not as good as last, cause i attended ROK 09. however, M3 was special. I also enjoyed Lynch Mob and Michael Schenker Group. This weekend, we go see Kix and I hope to see Funny Money this winter.

Only one concert this summer and that was Scorpions and MSG in Chicago. It's not so much the tickets prices that kept me away, but the insane parking ($20.00) and the damn "service fees" and assorted other bull shit fees that these ticket sellers add on. A $100 dollar seat winds up costing you $135 plus parking fee. Hey, it's getting to the point where I'm just not going to go.

Sadly, M3 was my only concert of the summer but WELL WORTH IT !
The only thing on the winter horizon is KIX-Mas in December. I am kind of jonesing here myself. Lol.

Only saw one concert this Summer: steel panther at the House of Blues here in San Diego. At $20 a ticket, it was not a bad deal. These days, stratospheric ticket prices keep me away from most concerts. One thing I don't understand is why promoters don't hold more festivals here in San Diego. Whether it's July or january, we almost always have the best weather in the country. Hell, we still have outdoor concerts all Winter.

Allyson - you're right, Ritchie Kotzen does rock. The record he did with Poison was one of their best, and his playing is why.
