don jameison: let's hang out sometime. perhaps M3
Yes, I know your opinion that "if it's too good to be true, it probably is." But, that, in and of itself, is an absolute. therefore, fundamentally, there are exceptions to that rule. Roth sings, 'i'm the exception to your (the establishment's) rule."
That being said. There was no "opportunistic" course of action. It "was" pre-conceived and pre-planned and carried out without secrets between the (all) parties involved. Was there a hidden agenda on my part? definitely. there still is one and still will be one in place.
But that agenda is not predatory either; unless you talk about preying upon "the system" and not the indidiviaul. Actually, it wasn't, and never was, from my advantage point. And it wasn't until you got involved that people started to "not remember" and back track considerably. oh I have many examples.
How many times (since 1996), did I take my cause to supervisors, attorneys, administrators and even some on the bench. My position: we shouldn't be doing this!!!! This is wrong!!!! They (supervisors and administrators) are sending us (mostly me) into the field to conduct medical examinations....1996, 1997 complained more), 1998(complained even more...etc...that was the trend. My trend: complaining even more that their decision and instruction to make me do this is not "the right this to do."
It wasn't until a few bullshit complaints arose, that the supervisors and administrators started to distance themselves from "their" directives and then fingerpoint; again, it never was not some rogue, offensive behavior. It was a cost effective way of "doing our job" THEIR FUCKING WORDS!
On a positive note: policy (finally) changed sometime in the new millenium and licensed medical staff started to take over that aspect with an investigator present. But how does one address the rumor mill already cemented in place? when I am the investigator in the room. Individually? With the doctor/nurse? collectively? through MB's private practice? Through the Internet? HOW????????? I tried every way I knew how.
MB: you're steeped into the forensic, behavioral-cognitive model and rely on polygraphs. Set it up @ M3. Please bring some administrators with you and let's have one hell of a round table and one hell of a party. You asked me if I wanted to put my money where my mouth is and I replied, "I did." I had stayed in communication with someone who has been very instrumental in my career, but threw me under the bus when this all happened nevertheless, despite that she new all of my concerns about the actions I was made to do from the get-go, so I finally decided to distance myself from her and say I don't want or need her help. I'm alive and doing fine.
SO, MB....I will take credit f(a lot of the dredit!!!) for many changes that the agency put in place; post 2001. hmmm...what happened that year???
Behind the scenes, i believe it was because of my outspoken rogueness and FU attitude over and over and over and over and over and over...coupled with saying to them, "Please stop doing this and making caseworkers do this, this is why we're losing employees, have a bad reputation and will eventually get sued big time!. go ahaead, nikki...hook us up at the same time @ m3. You know me. I love to party!
what I recommended versus what policies were changed...um, almost ALL of the "major" policies. there were/are a few where we butted heads; but not to the point where/how I butted heads with the prior administration, kidspeace or with my 1st cps supervisor.
yes, mb, when I have a strong network of support...I "am" (can be) that good. much like they are.
