Is This For Real?

I thought the video below was a joke, but I think it's actually real. The video is apparently the official Geoff Tate electronic press kit (EPK). When I watched it for the first time, I was just flabbergasted. Like, I was confused. One of the most common uses of electronic press kits is to get booked for gigs. But Geoff's new video doesn't do much to sell his solo music career. Instead, it acts as a sales tool for his line of wine, Insania, and his love of motorcycles. Seriously, the clip is just so odd. You have to watch it. Thank Glam it's Friday!

God Bless this Country, The President and all of our Citizens.
The notion that Romney would have somehow prevented the attacks on our embassies is as ludicrous as you believing he can win the election.
Contrary to the shrill popular belief the Tea Party faction of the once great Republican Party has as a reformulated Kool-Aid for you to drink, the sky is not falling, Kevon. Change the channel once in awhile, bro.
God Gave Rock And Roll To You...
I'll be there when our great President bestows KENNEDY Honors to each of the surviving members of Led Zeppelin in December, shortly after his reelection.
Instead he's drowning in a sea of tapes of things he probably never meant to say but the extreme right told him to say and now he's finished. You'd be better off putting up Jeb Bush only that would only get you so far because of how his brother destroyed the country.
This website’s main focus is about music and always will be. I realize emotions are high right now. America is deeply divided. So divided that my friends who live in other countries just gape in amazement at us, our news coverage and how we treat each other. Truly. They do.
So here it is. Kevon, I have to call you out because you are parroting a lie here. Romney’s slag on the 47% didn’t surprise me, but it sure did offend me. I’m a proud, sign-in-the-yard monthly donor to the Obama campaign. I have a visor I wear that says Obama 2012. I will knock on doors and phone bank all next month. I believe in the progressive platform. You are a conservative and I applaud that, it is your choice and your right. But when you start heaping lie upon lie, the truth must be set free.
You see, I’m an educated-fully employed, above average income earner Obama voter. I have a graduate degree I earned while working full time. I graduated first in my class, beating the kids who did no outside work to earn money while studying. When I say I was working full-time: I mean it. I was literally producing news, getting up at 3 a.m. to go to work. Stack and write show after show and then I’d go to class at night. I didn’t use Pell grants to pay for my very expensive private education. My husband and I took out other loans, which we are still dutifully paying back.
My husband is a proud Obama voter, educated and well compensated. We are blessed. We are DINKS – double income, no kids. That is our choice. After 10 years of marriage, we have decided we do not want kids. And for this, we pay way more in income tax than most. And we don’t complain and we don’t try to game the system. The millionaires are the ones who complain, yet they have so much more than the rest of us. My husband I don’t complain because we believe we owe a lot to America. We want to have safe neighborhoods, nice parks to run in, good roads to drive on and a military that protects us if the need arises. We believe in a strong social safety net. Because you never know what will happen, we realize we may need government help one day. We do our part, saving for retirement, not living an extravagant lifestyle (although my mom would disagree. She thinks our annual vacation and many concerts are very luxurious!) and we live within our means. We give to charity.
How does this mean I fall into the 47% that Mr. Romney referred to? Well, I earn my living, doing marketing for a social justice organization. One that relies on government money. I guess that means I’m sucking at the government teat. Of course, Romney has no problem taking massive tax deductions, barely paying any tax at all. Romney didn’t accept a salary while he was governor of Massachusetts, but he did fleece state taxpayers for massive security detail while running for president all those years ago. That is but one example of many of Romney’s use of “public assistance.”
Let’s talk about the 47% breakdown and just who they are… here’s the breakdown by program to the best of my knowledge on the percentage of people who benefit:
Medicaid: 26%
Social Security: 16%
Food stamps: 16%
Medicare: 15%
Women, Infants and Children food program: 8%
While it is true 46% of American households paid no federal income tax in 2010, those people do pay other federal taxes, including Medicare and Social Security withholding. They also pay sales tax, property tax, etc. And lots of REALLY rich folks pay no federal income tax because of tax deductions and loopholes.
So who are the non payers, then?
Manny don't earn enough money for a household of their size to owe income tax.
About 22% get tax breaks for senior citizens. You don’t pay tax on social security. That would be double taxation. (Ok, you do pay tax on this benefit if you earn a ton of money while “retired” or you file your income tax a certain way).
About 15% get tax breaks for being low income.
A small percentage get tax breaks for college tuition.
And make no mistake: the majority of people Romney slammed work…sometimes two and three jobs even. They just don’t make much money.
And please, spare me the racist connotations about the black teens. More whites are on government assistance (SNAP, supplemental nutrition assistance program) than blacks.
This was long. But my website gives me that right I suppose.
Now back to music.
That wasn't nice those teens called you that name.
And yes, there is some social safety net fraud. There's fraud at the very top of the income scale in this country too.
I don't think it does the Republican party much good to call half the country lazy. That's my free advice to the party: don't insult potential voters.
