Bret Michaels Releases Song, Video Teaser

On Tuesday, Bret Michaels will release the new single "A Beautiful Soul." Over the weekend, Bret released a teaser clip of both the song and new video.

"A Beautiful Soul" is a ballad, but it's definitely better than I thought it would be... even if I want new rock music. The production sounds pretty thin for a major artist, though. Bret clearly has money for a good producer, so why does the track sound this way? What do you think?

The song is better than I expected too. But yes, you are correct, the production quality os pretty bad. That isnt surprising. Bret always does stuff on the cheap. Hell his band is AWFUL because he wont pay real musicians to join him.

Not the worst song... but you're right, the production is pretty amateurish. This could really benefit from someone "riding the faders" & compressing a little bit. The trick of double tracking a thin vocal, is to not make it sound like you're double tracking a thin vocal!

Production is horrible. It's not the worst song, but it's not the best. Id rather have him in Poison, he keeps trying to be modern and pop, he thinks it's creative, but I don't know.....

I'm a bit disappointed in the video. The lighting isn't very good. That said, I do think the song is one of his better solo efforts.

Not a bad song and ya his solo stuff is pretty thin in terms of quality. His best song was Raine. Great song.

It's not poison, but it's ok. I'll still buy his stuff; just maybe not the cologne.

I have been a lifelong fan but this audio production is so incredibly bad I am sort of shocked. I mean, how bad is it when you can hear where the vocals were punched in? The overall sound is like something you could have done on a home computer 15 years ago. Bret, I love you but wtf happened to your standards for how your music sounds? This may have been a decent song, but do yourself and your fans a favor and rerecord it with an actual sound engineer please. Nothing but love.
