Def Leppard, Whitesnake UK Tour

Def Leppard is touring America this summer with Tesla (I already have my tickets!) and they recently announced a European leg for winter, too. Whitesnake will provide support for the UK dates.

Call it the revisionist in me. As much as I love Purple, I always thought a lot of the stuff could have had thicker, heavier and cleaner sounding guitars, something Whitesnake clearly addresses here, for better or worse, though personally, I will probably go with the former.
Leave it to Metalboy! to think it's a good idea to blasphemize the sacrosanct originals!
And I am torn on the Styx v. Whitesnake issue. In theory, Whitesnake hands down. But live? Now? You know my position on that; Coverdale is a robotic studio voice now unless something magical has happened. And things happen . . . Brian Johnson's voice--I know, totally different sounds, but--has regained its vigor after sounding burnt out for year.
Styx without DeYoung still sound good. But DeYoung still sounds good too. I'd like him back in the fold, even if the current version are more likely to pull off a good show than Whitesnake at this point. And, yes, that is because of the vocals alone. The rest of 'Snake is solid.
I guess what I am trying to say is this: I would prefer to hear a decent version of "Mr. Roboto" than a horrid version of "Slide It In."
