Doesn't Seem Like 25 Years...

I can't believe Pornograffitti is 25 years old this weekend. Thank goodness for "Hole Hearted" and "More Than Words." Enjoy your summer Sunday!

I prefer He Man Woman Hater and Get The Funk Out. Those are still awesome songs.

BARF!

I do like "Kid Ego" and "Mutha Don't Wanna Go To School Today" from the first album, however. It's a shame Bettencourt never escaped Cherone & Co. to put together a better band. Nice logo, though.

Ok fellow BBGers. I didn't know where else to post this little story, so I'll just put it here.

Wed, August 5th - got a wild hair up my *ss and decided to go see Motley/Alice tour if I could find second hand cheap seats. $142 ticket, for $75, not too bad to start my evening. Seen the tour already, so basically knew what to expect.

Alice status quo, then Crue came out. Quick check of upcoming setlist see that Motherf*cker of the Year and Anarchy In The UK back to back coming up, this is my chance to go potty, puff a cig (yeah, I know bad habit when I drink a beer), and grab a beer. Out in smokerville, a guy tells me that he's like 6th row or something and says that's not Nikki Sixx, and me being me, is like "you just said what ?" Well now, you have my attention. Proceeded to listen to how many shows he's been in over the years, how big of fan, yet he has a JCPenney Motley shirt on. Sorry, I've always had a rule you don't wear the shirt to the band you are going to see. And if you do, well lets just say its should not be circa 2013 JCP brand next to the knockoff Coca - Cola shirts.

Finally today, decided to see if anyone had posted videos of the show:

I get what the guy was saying:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YryGDgrDfhk

about the 2:20 mark

But then there is a youtube full video of the entire concert:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oZ49EgNLM0Y

BTW, not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing that you actually video'd a whole concert. Isn't the concert about the experience ? Hard to do when you are paying attention to if auto focus is in focus or not, oh well I digress.

So, I watched what I missed and lo and behold, Nikki talked before Anarchy about the 40:20 mark in the video.

Just an interesting experience, love to see and talk "smart" with that guy again.

PS - Motley should ditch Anarchy in any set list btw... Pretty sure its only just about True Crue fans paying the money or taking their kids to show how we were (well still are) cool. Shouldn't I get anything other than Live Wire off the first album ? Maybe a 10 Seconds to Love/Red Hot instead from the next one ? How about a side B of Theatre ? Etc... But yet you choose a not so good cover of a Sex Pistols song ?

Saw these guys the other night. Nuno is the fn man. One of the best ever. Wasnt a big fan of the album back in the day but it sounded good and they threw in kid ego and midnight express.

Nuno did a solo album and had a band mourning widows that put out 2 albums i believe. After he escaped.

I remember Bettencourt's solo and side ventures, Badland. Just wish he could have done somethin' better because, as you said, "Nuño is the fn man." And, unfortunately for him, he obviously didn't permanently escape.

I'm with Metalboy! on this one. Their first album was at least decent. After that, they started to take themselves too seriously. A really good friend of mine who was in the Boston-area band Gypsy Child back in the day, crossed paths with Nuno and the boys quite a bit back then. Apparently, tunes like "Mutha, don't Wanna go to school" and "do You want to Play" were specifically written because they played lots of gigs at schools when they were starting out.
