'Gimme Blood'

Happy Valentine's Day!

YES! A teaser of the song "Gimme Blood" from the upcoming 1313 project featuring Mick Mars and John Corabi. I love what I'm hearing so far - this album is going to be great!

Sounds good. Mars must've been itching to get off that seemingly never ending farewell tour and into the studio making some quality music with a singer that can hold a note.

Hell yeah. As they all embark on their own projects, the truth of who was the real, die hard, stick to your roots rocker in the band was (and is) is about to come out. Hint. You just heard a snippet of the proof. At least IMO anyway.

Those 40 seconds already sound better than anything the Crue have put out in 20 years. I'm in.

Im sure this album will break sales records across the globe. Im hoping this time they dont try to call themselves Motley Crue, again. That was the biggest joke with that record, for me! I actually loved Scream and thought the self titled release was solid. But it certainly wasnt the Crue.

Sounds promising. There is a second clip released as well http://1313llc.com/

Hmmm, I'm not completely sold yet. I don't know if the sludgey style of the songwriting is a compensation for Corabi's reduced high vocal range, or if this is really what they intended without having to make consessions. for me, the jury is still out, but I of course wish them well.

THIS sounds KILLER!!!

Redemption for Corabi... Ya gotta love Mars for not skipping a beat and getting Corabi. Though we tend to herald him on high here, Corabi's someone who's pretty much been scraping by since Neil rejoined Crüe. As soon as Crüe called it quits, Mars wastes no time, bring in Corabi and sends a message to REAL Rock n' Rollers everywhere... IT'S TIME TO ROCK!

It's like Mars is laying down the gauntlet to Nikki Sixx, Gn'R, Van Halen, KISS and anyone else who has a hope in H*ll of ever doing something legit again, saying, "GET REAL!"

Of all people, it just may be Mick Mars who saves Rock n' Roll!

p.s. Thanks for posting this, Al... And thanks for the extra tidbit, Jeff!

Wow, both teasers sound killer!! I can't wait to get this album when it comes out. I've said it a million times, but Mick is so underrated...I hope he blows away any new releases coming out because this sounds so promising.

I always liked Corabi's voice. Especially way back when he was in the band "Raggedy Anne", which later changed their name to "Angora"... (* Go chase down the demos.. it's worth it!)

He's been keeping busy the last year or so, opening the KISS/Def Leppard tour w/ the band "Dead Daisies", & this bit w/ Mars sound... eh, "OK". just a bit dated to me. I'll withhold judgement until I hear more. As for "Gimme Blood" , I thought for a second they were going to cover the awesome Steel Dragon tune, "Gimme Blood Pollution" !

One more thing... MICK! You're no longer saddled with a sub-par singer like Vince...
It'd be just fine if you actually tuned your guitar back somewhere closer to standard pitch... Even Eb or D would be fine.... the sludgey "tuned down to C#" stuff just sounds like sh*t.

Agreed on the drop tuning shit Ace. It's been done to death ad nauseum. Drop D was cool when it was first used back in the day. But the whole tune it down to C or B,Jack up the bass and mids while running the distortion to molten levels, then add enough delay to make it all sound like a rhino stuttering is ridiculous already. And while I'm ranting, does anybody play a solo anymore without a freaking wah wah? Lol.
Color me happy. Just. Plain. Happy.

Songs sound like a continuation of the work they did in Crue. That could pose problems in terms of growth or development. Or it could simply be a case of getting back to what worked musically if not financially. Which poses other problems. Thing is, I don't think Mars is in this to set the world alight. Nor is he chasing Hot Topic-ality in a sad bid for youth-iness.

Ace and Gary, thanks for educating an ignorant person on the whole guitar tuning issue. What was Mars doing back on the Crue album with Corabi? Just curious.
