Whitesnake 'Comin' Home' -- New Video

If you're like me, you're headed back to work today. I won't lie: I'm looking forward to eating on a normal schedule again. I've had too much Christmas the last four days!

Whitesnake is back with a new video. This time for the song "Comin' Home" from the The Purple Album. Happy Wednesday!

Easily the best take on the Mark III and IV songs on Whitesnake’s Purple Album. I wasn’t a big fan of the album (not because I had any problen with David Coversal and Whitesnake revisiting those songs, but because the end product sounded unispired, muddled, and lifeless), but this one works and may even top the original. Huge fan of the three Coverdale Purple records and I’m glad the band toured behind these songs and brought some attention to that era of the band, particularly the almost completely forgotten Mark IV album, which is a favorite of mine. Tommy Bolin was awesome.

This is pretty boring as the song itself is pretty much by the numbers to begin with.

“Burn” is really the only track half-notable on “The Purple Album”, something that struck me as a fairly uninspired Coverdale vanity project from the outset, well, once Blackmore declined to be involved.

Besides all my sniping, I will probably go see these guys as they’re playing Orlando April 22nd, regardless of the fact Coverdale’s voice is completely shot!
