The Best Albums of 2018

Here's my favorite albums of 2018 - in no particular order. Hopefully you've heard some of these. If not, check them out!

Judas Priest - Firepower

Halestorm - Vicious [Explicit]

Saxon - Thunderbolt

Stryper - God Damn Evil

Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper - A Star Is Born Soundtrack [Explicit]

Favorite single of the year:

"High Hopes" from Panic! At The Disco and their album Pray For the Wicked. This is just one hell of a catchy tune. I know it because of college football - it sure got played a lot on TV this season!

That made me laugh, Fletch. Thanks. An unexpected comment/lob/jab.

I do get what Christian is saying. And I also have a reverse position on what I previously posted There are some people who make music that I just can't stand or don't really enjoy. But I find them to be agreeable people all the same (or at least assume they are based on what I see/read/hear) or think it would be great to hang out with them and hear some stories (as if that would happen!). I've mentioned Grohl before. He applies in this case. Same with Hagar.

And I also get, and nodded towards, the fact that when it is closer to you (in detail, actual proximity, personal experience, etc.) it cuts different and deeper. So I can respect your position, Christian. Agreeing to disagree is one of the great strengths of this site.

Him - YES!!! I HATE Cannibal Corpse. But I've seen Corpse Grinder around a few times, on 70k he was standing by the lift talking to people as they walked by. The dude is hilarious. He seems really cool, but his band just sucks

Similar situation with Jesse James Dupree and Jackyl. HE is absolutely hilarious, with his
in-between songs banter coming across way more hilarious and entertaining than his band’s songbook.

See, I really enjoyed Jackyl for a while, but 2 Rocklahomas wore me out on them.

Late to the party here. Pretty exhaustive thread on naming 2018 albums. Here's a few I haven't seen mentioned:
Dorothy - 28 Days In the Valley
Diamante - Coming In Hot
The Amorettes - Born To Break
Sari Schorr - Never Say Never

HOLY SH*T!!!, Bob and The Cheap Seats! (Sounds like the name of a band!), I just randomly checked back here to see if anybody left some “Best of 2018” morsels I might have missed and after combing through your lists, man did I ever! ...

BOB!:

DOLL HAZARD are absolutely KILLER beyond KILLER and would have easily made it into my “Top 10 of 2018” had I known about ‘em! Totally hooked and playin’ the album “Transatlantic Meltdown” over and over ... Dead Boys meets Thunders all the way, BADA*S with a capital “B”!!!

THE CHEAP SEATS!:

THE AMORETTES! Mega! Mega! Mega! These chicks are the embodiment of Rock & Roll! Definitely would be in my “Top 10 of 2018” had I known about them!

DOROTHY! Great album, from this L.A. chanteuse who I was also unfamiliar with until now! Man has this girl got some chops and fantastic songwriting! Kinda like Lana Del Rey but she can actually sing!
