Eddie Van Halen Attends Tool Concert

Another Eddie Van Halen sighting and this one is very funny. Ed attended a Tool concert the other night with his son Wolfie. Look at the tweet below and let it marinate. If you are a rock fan, how do you not know Eddie Van Halen?! Also, why are the Van Halen's sitting so far from the stage on the side? Celebrities: they are just like us!

Brilliant!!!!

EVH, just an old dude at a Tool show. A bit of a middle finger to all the news outlets (including tbh my beloved BBG) and gossip sites for trolling EVH and his health. His privacy and actions are his choice. What VH does or doesn’t do is their own business. Not our business. See? We are the customers. And for all intents and purposes they can increase their business by millions whenever the hell they want. And the masses wait with baited breath.

AC/DC do the same thing.

Him! Hope your well. Great reading from you yesterday

Well I didn't troll Eddie's health, so you can leave me out, thanks. In fact, I specifically called it all tabloid fodder. - Allyson

I feel that the guy who's pic EVH took may be a staunch advocate of the legal weed out there in Cali? 😎👍😂😂

No malice intended ✌️

Just felt topic was fuel for the fodder

His facial expression looks like he definately is Gary, hahah. It is kind of funny he didnt recognize him since you think every rock/metal fan would notice EVH, but there is a gap between Van Halen and Tool fans. Not surprising they dont share the same fan base.

Thanks for the comment, Kixchix. I remember how we started out on the wrong foot a long time ago (and that was my snark getting in the way). I am doing well. And I hope you are too.

I think the topic of EVH, like that of VH, is a difficult one for a host of reasons. Me? I am glad to see him out and about, even if you can tell/sense/intuit that his health is precarious.

Though not necessarily _the same_, the issue that Kixchix raises about EVH reminds me of all the recent talk about Banali. Yes, you can question the idea of QR going forward. Fair game. You can even question Banali's motives in doing it. When you put yourself out there, people have a right to opine. But I wonder if any of those people who were questioning his integrity for sitting out shows feel even an ounce of regret now that it turns out he has been ill.

I dunno. Like I said, I stopped posting a lot because I wanted my contributions to be more "net beneficial." And I knew, and know, that I can get tempted to lash out when I don't have a clue or when it ends up being poor form (celebrating a celebrity's slide into the abyss is too easy these days). So I wish EVH well, and Banali too. I have a lot of memories attached to both of them.

Sidebar: also read a bit further into Wolf's posts. The idea of EVH and Les Claypool playing something together is crazy. Imagine what that would sound like?

Him, my good sir, I was one of the people who jumped on banali without knowing all of the facts. I am far enough along in my life that I can admit that I do slightly regret the comments I made now that I know about Banali's health. The slightness of my regret though is largely fueled by the fact that Banali wasn't exactly carrying on the QR name with integrity before his health issue.

Bob, my good sir, cool move. And I completely understand your position(s). It is no contradiction to wish the man well while also questioning how he ran the band for the last few years.

And I think you nailed it . . . being a bit farther along on one's journey can add a bit of light and shade to things. Certainly not for everyone. But it is nice to think that age helps us to develop a better sense of balance, or at least leads us to strive for the same.

Great post HIM and Bob providing wisdom - I feel for EVH and Frankie as well as Ox Fox? I forget the guy with Stryper - All of our musicians that impacted our lives are growing older and may have become oddity's we no longer care for but can not deny the impact the music had on our lives.
