And There You Have It

Don't count on a Cinderella reunion anytime soon. Tom Keifer isn't interested and that means it won't happen until he is... and that may never happen at this point. Tom is focused on his solo career. I suppose he looks at a Cinderella reunion as going backward. Thankfully we still have all those Cinderella albums to relive the glory days!

And Tom also defiantly said he does not look ridiculous with red duct tape on his sunglasses. It’s an artistic statement that has resonated with his core audience.

And by “core audience” he means his bandmates who rely on him to eat...

What a joke he’s become! Maybe he, Kip Winger, & Geoff Tate can get together, do their solo material, travel in a ‘91 Chevy Aerostar, & play the local county fairs? No way they could play the state fairs but maybe if they added enough Truck Pulls & Pig Shows, maybe they could get enough unaware ppl(that leave when they start with the “new” stuff) to play a 100 seat pavilion on the County Fair Circuit. Gonna be close on even that, though!

Wow. BLallday you couldnt be more wrong. Tom's solo material is fantastic, Maybe he's just tired of driving the Cinderalla car with 3 flat tires? Cinderalla was ALWAYS Tom and some dudes. Bottom line.

Ton of respect for Keifer. Showing a lot integrity. Plus his band is awesome and he is the embodiment of Cinderella anyway so going to see him and seeing him play 10-12 Cinderella songs is like going to see a Cinderella concert anyway. Good for him

Understood! Agree to disagree.

Yeah, man! I’m with BK again! AND, also Gary!

Totally hilarious comment, BK, especially the detail of the ‘91 Chevy Aerostar, haha!! However, you forgot one other passenger — Brett Michaels!

No offense, Allyson, but I feel like it’s frickin’ groundhogs day because haven’t we already discussed the downfall of Keifer already just a couple of weeks ago, maybe not even.

Do, here we go again ...

To start with, not seein’ or hearin’ the integrity, Basileus.

Now, granted, the first time I saw Keifer solo was on Letterman, which I thought was horrendously laughable, personally, before he even sang one “note” of a new song he was about to perform when he belted out the most off-key scream that was worse than any chalk across blackboard screech I’ve ever heard (and that’s coming from a former Catholic schoolboy who heard it almost daily for three years)!

Talk about having millions of people who tuned in instantly hate you for ever. And the song just plain s*cked, too! I also, have seen several YouTube clips to know I NEVER want to hear another note. And I’ve seen the clips of him with his new band doing the Cinderella stuff.

It ain’t the same! I saw ‘em four times including the last time they ever played on The Monsters of Rock Cruise and despite Le Bar losing his sh*t by passing out drunk on the cruise, he was still nailing his parts on stage and they sounded better than what I’ve witnessed in video.

So, Kenny, I love ya, but what you’re saying is just crazy talk! Cinderella, the classic line-up has that invisible 6th man thing going on when they all play together that’s just not there with the hired hands he’s got playin’ with him now. Sorry to say, it’s a borderline Brett Michaels situation, IMHO.

And, lastly, I thought the same thing looking at the photo featured on this post: What’s with the Red Cross sunglasses? Trying to be cool but coming off like he’s trying to hard just like the ridiculous and cringeworthy scream he let loose on Lettermen that fateful night.

p.s. Realize these are just opinions of someone who told Keifer to his face he’s a legend but, as I said in my comments the last time Allyson posted on him, I feel like I should have never said that to him because of the corny Brett Michaels like narcissism going on with him now.

The Way Life Goes was a great album and I am looking forward to Rise! If you get a chance go see him and his band live. You won't regret it. His vocals are in top shape and they play all the Cinderella classics.

Im sure his new album will top the charts, sell millions, and have everyone under the sun talking about how great it is, and how Heartbreak Station, Long Cold Winter, and Night Songs were mere wastes of time & plastic!!! Is that red tape he has on his lenses??? Wow, hes such a dynamic groundbreaking rebel!!! Im sure Brittingham, Coury, & Labar are envious of how monstrously huge Keifer has now become, and how theyve been made to look like such untalented assholes. Lmao, noone would gaff about Keifer if he hadn't been in Cinderella. "was always tom & some dudes". Smfh

I just was about to add my 2 cents, and Jeff above me wrote it for me word for word. I saw Tom about 4-5 times over the long run of the debut solo record between NYC clubs and M3, That band and record is killer and the new single is a crusher. All in.

Just curious how old sparky, jeff, & basileus are? Did they get to enjoy Cinderella in their prime or did they miss that era? Cuz that makes a huge difference.

Cinderella is one of the best blues rock band ever. Solo needs some work a lot of work.

Groundhogs day 😆

53 thank you , and yes, I was there for the first tour with Night Songs and have seen Cinderella 6-7X back in the day. I, like everyone else here long for the old days and wish Tom, Fred, Jeff, and Eric would kiss and makeup but unfortunately it doesn't seem like its in the cards. How about enjoying him for what he is now, support his new music and his band and go see them live? Like I said in the above post, you won't regret it. His new band plays the classics note for note, and Tom's voice is in top form considering everything that he has went through over the years.

I would go see him live but I just can’t sit through the solo stuff. It’s frickin’ awful!

I’m 44. Bought the first three Cinderella albums when they came out but never saw them live.
Irrelevant.

I’m not against a reunion, I’m simply choosing to not criticize him or be upset for not doing so. I’ve seen what he does now. It’s close enough to Cinderella for me. I don’t need the name of the band on the marquee to feel the warmth of the nostalgia you all seem to crave. And the solo stuff is, not great, but good. I love Solid Ground. I play it for my friends at cook outs and it almost always prompts someone to ask me about it and buy it.

And to answer an earlier question, Keifer’s decision to avoid reviving Cinderella shows integrity because it shows his commitment to the riskier path he has chosen, likely forgoing bigger guarantees and venues. Doing what you believe is right despite the risks and lesser income he’ll derive from it shows courage and integrity in my book. Reviving Cinderella for nostalgia and to make a few extra bucks does not.

Ultimately, I can understand not liking his solo stuff, and wanting him to tour as Cinderella. I just don’t understand the vitriol directed at him. He continues to do a good job of representing Cinderella, he’s not shunning his legacy.

Ok, I’m done. We can agree to disagree.

Good post Basilius, but for me it’s the “holier than thou” narcissistic comments that he always seems to wanna make towards his former bandmates(yeah the ones that helped make him what he is). To me, this is no different than what Rob Zombie did in the past, & so many do these days, all just to make a buck. And that’s to get rid of all the original members so you don’t hafta split the money up fairly amongst the band. To me, it’s all about the $$$ to him. Just different viewpoints & like ya said, we can simply agree to disagree. While I continue playing those first 3 classic albums! 🤘🏼

I echo Jeff and Basilius again. I have been a fan since the first record and saw them open for Bon Jovi when "Shake Me" was the current single. I love Cinderella, but that is not what he is doing right now. He's working his ass off to build his solo career, and I dig it. Great live shows, and I loved the first record. I hope the new one is more of the same. Not to mention he plays deeper Cinderella cuts live. Last time I saw him, he was co-headlining a festival and opened with the title track off "Still Climbing". It was excellent.

Check out him playing "Solid Ground" on Letterman on You Tube. Good stuff.

Way to go Tom! Lifes too short to be around people you don’t agree with. You gotta be You! You only go once around the ride and its better to enjoy the Ride! Jeff is a weak Minded ❄️! He should have been replaced. Frank Hannon should step in, now that would be LEGEND!

Love me some Cinderella. Never heard any of Tom's solo songs other than at M3, and I didn't know any of them. Wanted to hear the Cinderella classics. Would love to see a Cinderella reunion at a festival or something like that, but let's be honest, we won't see a tour.

Too bad Poison doesn't do those summer tours anymore with 3 other 80's bands, as that would open up some decent gigs for these bands and perhaps make a reunion worth it money wise. The last time I saw Cinderella with original members was one of those tours, the Hollyweird Tour (with Faster Pussycat and Winger as well ... killer lineup).
