Ozzy Opens Up About Parkinson's Diagnosis

Most of us were not surprised when the news hit that Ozzy Osbourne was battling Parkinson's. We could see it with our own eyes. Now Ozzy admits he was originally diagnosed back in 2003. Fans are not owed this personal information so it is interesting to me that Ozzy is admitting it now. Perhaps he wants to reassure us that he can keep going because he is used to living with this disease. Or maybe he is preparing us for his eventual retirement. All of us deserve a rest at some point.

Anyway, while watching the show one time, he asked me why Ozzy shakes so much and often holds his own hand. (There was an episode where Kelly Osbourne and Ozzy were singing a duet and every time Ozzy finished his lines, he would clutch his hand, seemingly to keep it from shaking). I replied to my foster son, "Ozzy has Parkinson's disease". Up until this recent disclosure, I honestly thought it was public knowledge. His illness never kept me from attending his shows and I wish him the best medical care, which is what I wish for every single American to have regardless of his financial situation or political affiliation.
