RATT, Skid Row Tour Rumor

The rumor about the next big summer tour announcement has hit Blabbermouth. The big talk is that RATT, Tom Keifer, Skid Row and Slaughter will hit the road during the warm months. This goes back to the Eddie Trunk tweet I shared a couple days ago. I think this sounds like a fun package. But who headlines - RATT or Skid Row? I guess RATT edges out the Skids, but by a tiny amount. Thoughts?

Agreed, it is pretty sad that no acts are close to "original" ... a missing guitar player/drummer ... a missing lead singer ... a missing band ... and then Slaughter may be close to original depending on who plays drums (hoping for Zoltan, but have heard Blas is back).
I would go see this if they're nearby and ticket prices are OK. Curious what types of venues they'll play. I guess smaller amphitheaters will work like Iroquois amphitheater here in Louisville, that would definitely be a great venue for this type of show. This is bigger than clubs though ... at least theaters like what Tesla is playing, but in the summer I'm thinking smaller outdoor venues.
And TOTALLY AGREE with oversaturation of tours this summer. For this summer, I'm already broke after buying tix for Rammstein, Stadium Tour (Motley/DL/Poison), Green Day, Sammy/WS/NR, AC/Tesla/Lita ... Ozzy just canceled his tour so there's that. It does seem like a lot this summer. And my wife wants to go see the Rolling Stones in Louisville now, sigh ....
Why even entertain going to see this charade of a tour?
What a bunch of SKABS!
It should be called The S.K.A.B.R.S. Tour! “S” for Skid Row, “K” for Keifer, “A” and “B” for ... Well, not sure what the h*ll they’re for ... “R” for RATT and “S” for Slaughter.
What a joke!
p.s. Sorry to hear you are broke, Steverox, as I find myself perpetually in that situation often. But that could have been avoided simply by not purchasing tickets for TESLUG (Sorry, Alice and Lita!)!
Anywho, I wasn’t remarking about Teslard’s band member origins. I was simply pointing out that Steverox could have saved money by not spending it in having to giving Tesla a standing ovation and then halfway through asking yourself why because their sh*t is so boring. And the fact they’re complete as*holes.
At least BK and I can agree the SKABRS Tour is a COMPLETE waste of time, as so comically pointed out by Gary.
No. He just wanted to speak to Unfunny Gary. He is putting together an anti-bullying task force and my name was recommended to him by the Director of Special Education, who believes that I would make an invaluable contribution to the team, so he invited me to join.
And why are we complaining about having too many options? I'd rather have a range of options than none at all, or at least a few options that are not over-priced. Few original members? Oh, yeah, I forgot. That is the bright-line for some of you. Well, that is going to continue to be a problem going forward. So you can move the market by avoiding shows like this, and then you can save your money for the 'stadium' shows. I guess I don't get the argument against more choices . . . as in, you . . . have . . . to . . . make . . . a . . . choice.
Say NO to mediocrity!
The choice made by those few who won’t settle for less is DON’T GO unless the original members are willing to get back together ...
Boycott the SCABS!
p.s. Hilarious, HIM! This in regards to your T-Shirt Cannon full of GA Tickets, for a minute there I thought you were Funny Gary, obviously not UNFUNNY Gary!
... er ... SKABRS!
Pearcy is a sleazy left-over from an almost was career that was done in, by and large, by his and his bandmates' appetite for destruction. He is opportunistic, as is Croucier.
Tom is high and mighty, but also putting his foot down re: Labar. He doesn't need them, just like Michaels often doesn't need the other guys. Or so he thinks.
Skid Row is run by a committee of two, or more likely one. Bas shot so many feet he should own a store that has the word "locker" in it. On one level, their reticence is principled. On another, it hurts their career. Thing is, they don't seem to care.
Slaughter is Slaughter. Mark has made a living outside the band and still makes room for the band. The one time I met him, he struck me as thoughtful and grateful. He is no Plant. But at least he tries.
Is a lot of this related to being selfish? Sure. Stupid? On some level, yes. But we only get what they put out there for us. So, yes, by all means, boycott mediocrity and sign Metalboy!'s petition at GoFundYourself. Know, though, that even that has a time stamp. Once gone, you got nothing left to punch. So, good or bad, tours like this are still an option, a choice. And, for a cheaper night out the could actually be fun, at times. But that requires you to slip on some rose colored glasses, have a drink or two, and just learn to accept the fact that your options are, across the board, limited. And they won't be getting less so in years to come.
Think about it. A funny story about a horrid performance by some also-rans or a surprisingly good set by some people trying to make a living. The other option? No. All of those options are fine. Just remember: the options are not getting better.
I do support newer bands like Dirty Honey and Joyous Wolf, as well as nostalgia acts like Tygers that still bring it. I would also go to see Bach on his new tour; same with Tate as his pipes seem better and he seems a bit less annoying. It isn't, at least for me, about choosing one over the other necessarily (and esp. when it comes to newer bands or long-standing bands that are not top-tier stadium bloat festivals). With lower cost acts, I can afford to spread the wealth and spend my scratch seeing has-beens, up-and-comers, and the occasional top-tier band as well.
If there is one point it seems we disagree on, it is the use of the term SCAB. To me, those new players are trying to make a living. Some of them do it well. Some don't. But I don't begrudge them a chance to earn. There is no picket line in music. They were called, they interviewed, they got the job. And I may like the music but question their boss(es): see Pearcy. And you also bring up how slippery all this is when you start thinking about it. Is Hayley Cramer a SCAB? How about Tim Öhrström? Brent Woods?
Say it all the time, the market decides. We are part of that market. That you and I pick (oftentimes, but not always) different spots is fine and fair and dandy.
Appreciate your POV, Bkallday. Truly.
