Rare Def Leppard Track Posted

Def Leppard just dropped an early version of "Glad I'm Alive." This is a rare track from 1979. The song is on the upcoming box set The Early Years 79-81, available March 20. Enjoy this "new" music today!

And some humor:

How apropos.

p.s. Regarding, White’s Tweet, needless to say I went for the Stoli Elite at the liquor store yesterday ... Who knows where the h*ll this is all going so might as well go for the good stuff.

So why does music like this need to be discovered 40 years later ? Why wouldn't a band with a halfway decent song maybe push to the next album, maybe add to an album 10 years down the line to "capture old sound", etc... ? Like how would this song sound with all the advances in sound production ?

Similar to like Shadow of Your Love by GNR

Or “When The Lights Go Out” Slade cover by Cheap Trick from tapes supposedly recorded back in ‘77 ...

Man, listen to THAT again! ...

Sure as h*ll sounds like a hit to me!

Another one: Van Halen, “She’s the Woman” from “A Different Kind of Truth” ... Apparently it was demo’d in the late 70’s but unreleased until it was reworked in 2012 ... “Huh-uh-uh-lo-oh!” ... They couldn’t tell how great this song was at the time of the demo?! Geezus!!!

I agree with both of you. Sometimes you hear one of those early 'lost' songs and wonder: "How the hell did they lose it?!?!" I suppose there are tons of mitigating factors at play. But to the common fan, it is occasionally curious.

Metalboy!, the good thing about drinking at home? You can make your well pours whatever you like and as strong as you want! Your top shelf can be far lower or higher, depending on your tastes, wallet, and palate. Also, no tipping (well, I suppose that depends on how many drinks the bartender pours for you!!!).

Great point one and all -- I got brave and made a run to Starbucks this morning - Thanks for posting guys -- Lost Songs never cease to amaze me as well as recordings artist forgot they made. I saw a video on you tube where they were showing Ozzy a recording made in Ohio? recorded live from the board that was in storage- Can you imagine the gems that are out there in a vault somewhere.
