iHeartRadio Living Room Concert For America Tonight

Tune in to Fox tonight for a special "living room" concert featuring some big stars like Elton John and Mariah Carey. This is another way to stay entertained while sitting at home. Plus this is a fundraiser too. The special will be commercial free.

I watched it. It was a bit weird, and I wasn't crazy about the format because it wasn't really live at all ... it was all pre-recorded.

But of course it was for a great cause, so all good with that.

Dave Grohl did a nice acoustic version of "My Hero". The rest was about what you'd expect ... a mix of some pop stars singing their hits, and the one token country artist. The best of all was a firefighter (I believe) who sang Imagine with another firefighter playing piano. That was awesome.

Off topic: I've now also watched a few of the actual live concerts bands are putting on. Though I love the concept, I've found it's also just not the same as a real live concert. It's cool for a couple songs, but then you really miss the audience and band interaction, and the feel of being at a live show. So that novelty wore off real fast.

What I would recommend for everyone is to check out Queen's Brian May's Instagram. He posts regularly and does Queen songs tutorials. Pretty cool, and frankly amazing how simple - but effective - most of his riffs are. Paul Stanley also did a Love Gun tutorial, and one of the Skid Row guitarists broke down the "I Remember You" solo which was cool too. So there is some good stuff out there. Stay safe and healthy everyone.

Agreed, steverox (I thinking I am just talking to you now). Nothing beats a great live show. But great that people are doing things to keep us entertained. Then again, we do have the music and the videos available too.

Also, ditto on staying safe and healthy. Remember: how you feel doesn't matter if what you have impacts those you love and those you don't know. It's about empathy, and community. Now more than ever, we don't really stand alone even if we have to do so for awhile.

I thought it was great! Really shows how people can use the technology ... But this is just the beginning of figuring out how it can all eventually be harnessed!

And, Steverox! WTH???!!! Grohl was the biggest snore of the whole thing compared to all the rest!

p.s. Bring Back Glam! in full back fill effect (though we do need all the old Commentors back on here to let us know everyone’s all right and what you’re up to!
