'The Devil Went Down To Georgia' - New Cover

Tomorrow, Nickelback will release a cover of the Charlie Daniels Band iconic "The Devil Went Down To Georgia."

Nickelback started teasing something new earlier this week on social media. I expected a mini-EP of quarantine tracks, but this cover will do. A little snippet of the track is available below. I assume you'll be able to download/stream the full version right after midnight.

GD you Nickelback... I stick up for you while a lot of people make you the butt of jokes and then you do a Charlie Daniels remake like 30 days after his death ? Not a random, side b Charlie Daniels that maybe alot of people don't know and you give it a new fresh polish for people to realize that ol' Charlie could write more than just one song. But nope... you take the most iconic song from my Urban Cowboy youth ??

The song has fiddle in it, hence the whole point of the song !

Strange they would do this, when Korn just released their cover of same song on July 28.

As GNR noted, Charlie Daniels recently passed - possibly both bands had been sitting on these recordings and found it fitting to release in memoriam?

Well, maybe they will “Animal”ize it ... THAT would be to cover it ... I guess we’ll have to wait ‘til tomorrow on it, Boys!

Just like Korn's versions of this that was released a couple weeks ago, put this right in the trash. 2021 cannot come soon enough

For those that have actually never seen a "goofy", fun video of a Nickelback song (oh, the power of a music video):
